Eurogamer claims a source close to Sony has indicated that if the Killzone 2 demo clears QA, it'll "almost certainly" be released in Europe before the game storms store shelves. This information comes hot on the heels of Sony America's confirmation that a North American demo will not be available until after the game launches on February 27.
Now, here's where wordplay makes the situation sticky. Killzone 2 doesn't currently have a clear release date in Europe. So, depending on when Europe actually gets an official date, the demo and game could very well be out in North America before Europe enters the zone of killing.

"now killzone 1 sold 750,000 copies.
there is a very small fanbase for this game, most of the people on board is solely on hype now."
Killzone 1 actually sold 2 million copies, according to the devs.
Just wanted to point that out. ^_^
As for why Sony are holding the demo back: they probably just wanted some extra money from Gamestop, who obviously had to pay Sony for the rights to this preorder bonus. SCEA needs all the money they can get their hands on right now.
But anyways, this article says that the demo will be releasing in Europe before the game comes out, so your entire point is moot, really. ;)

sk8,
LBP was an original IP,and sold around 350,000 copies. Halo was a new IP and did 34,000 the first week. It was also huge. You know what hindered sales of Halo? Everyone hated Microsoft for making it an exclusive. Funny how times change eh? So anyway, you tell me, did LBP really need a demo? No.
To be fair, let's look at Halo 2. 3.3m the first week. Killzone 1 did 32,000 the first week. Now, I'm not going to say that KZ2 will do as well as Halo 2, but if you're going to throw out sales stats, at least do it in a manner that makes sense. If you were to compare these stats directly, Killzone could very well in theory sell 3.1m its first week. That's (3,300,000 x 32,000) / 34,000. This is a direct ratio with directly compared sales figures next to each other.
I'm not saying it will do as well as Halo. I AM saying stop throwing out incorrectly used sales figures in a blind fanboy fashion.

hyams and levi-
all the figures i posted are from vgchartz.com
i know they are an estimate but that is what i used and they are usually close. we have to use some figures right?
damn hyams 750 to 2 million would be a big mess up though.
honestly the 750,000 seemed very low for the amount of people who like the game already.
levi i didnt say a demo is mandatory or needed,
but a demo would be appreciated, welcomed, and would probably help to increase sales of the game.
now halo 1 could have used a demo as much as LBP, it probably would have increased the sales even more than they were.
only a bad demo hurts a games sales.
a good demo always helps a games sales.
as even sony would probably say that there games have been underperforming like the news says , this would be a great way to help that.

Point well received. At this point, I'm not arguing, but I'd like to throw out another quick point. Joystiq posted an article a while back on how demos are thought to go against the sales of a game, that many devs and publishers believe demos will actually drive away some purchasers who were on the fence.
I do like demos though. I'm pumped for the Skate 2 demo, and even though I'd like a better reserve bonus than a demo, I'll be reserving KZ2 regardless, and can't wait to try it out.
