PETA chooses Fable 2 as its GOTY

When Joystiq chose Fable 2 as its Game of the Year, were you aware that we were displaying not only our great taste in electronic entertainment but also our abiding love for all the planet's creatures? No? Neither were we until we saw that the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals had chosen Molyneux's baby as this year's Most Animal-Friendly Video Game.

We think the more obvious choice was Doritos Dash of Destruction, as (1) its protagonist is the king of animals (a dinosaur!) and (2) it serves as an invitation to meditate on the very real effects of extinction. Just think of it: You could be watching dinosaurs racing every day, if we hadn't hunted them out of existence for their delicious skins.

They probably just heard that you could eat tofu and get rewarded purity points.
Probably didn't play the game, probably didn't know about kicking chickens into the mouth of a demon door who demands meat. (although I never did try to give the demon door tofu...)

I didn't know Fable 2 was misogynistic enough to get PETA's approval. After all, PETA doesn't seem to be able to run a PR campaign that isn't degrading to women.

Shouldn't PETA choose Okami?

I'm not to sure I like the idea of those wackos at PETA endorsing any game, fortunately most people don't take anything they say seriously.

the game advocates the kicking of chickens, meat eating (although you get bonus points for being a veg), as well as the eating of baby chickens. Plus all those critters you kill like beetles and hobbes and stuff.
