I hope its more true to Wolverine's character, just comics in general. Of course companies keep things kid friendly for monetary value but dammit!

If i buy one more Marvel/DC or what ever game to fight endless waves of robots. I am go-wait a second...

I read the full article and it sounds particularly vicious. They talk about one scene where Wolverine grabs a soldier and lifts him up into some spinning chopper blades. That plus decapitations, limbs lopped off etc.

I'm cautiously optimistic that this may actually be good.

I can take a few compromises, but I think video games that are M rated do just fine, unlike R movies.

The movie looks cool.... though I feel both will fall short of the hopes and dreams of the ultimate wolverine movie/game.

I hope this is true. I'm tired of being told Ironman or some comic book game will be the 'deffinative' expierience, so I hope this lives up to it. BTW I thought X2: Wolverine's Revenge was ok.

I didnt think the X-men 3 game was that bad either, sadly the wolverine and iceman parts were mediocre at best, the Nightcrawler parts were incredible

Hmm, I never played the X3 game, I do know it didn't have the same plot as the movie and Nightcrawler would have the best levels because he is one of the best X-men:D.

When all the old people die off the world will realize games aren't JUST for kids but more for adults and start making more adult games.

That's actually less true than you think. Kids are supposed to play video games, plain and simple. Most of us just never stopped when we grew up. My nephew finally beat all my scores on Guitar Hero, and it made my day.

Games are like books or movies in the since they are an artist medium. Sure there will always be kids games but the archaic attitude that games are for kids will die.

It ain't just gaming that's suffering, buddy. It's not even necessarily that developers are catering to kiddies. The problem lies within the corporate world's neverending quest for maximum income. Not everyone can walk right into a screening of an R-rated movie, so any popular book or comic book that you'd imagine would be a sleazefest will be neutered to PG-13. Everyone can see it, so the studios benefit. The same applies to games... stick with the original creative vision, or push out something that'll rake in the bucks? In almost all cases, the latter path is chosen.

You probably get sick of hearing this, but your best bet to stop it is to vote with your money. Though that likely won't drive away this curse soon, if ever.

I read that full article and while it does sound pretty awesome and that I hope it will be pretty awesome, I can't help but think of Dead to Rights. A game built around cool killing moves but the final product just isn't good.

God I hope this really will be awesome, countless times have I been reading Wolverine or X-men or X-force or anything wolverine is in and I think "I want to stab things, but a game would probably suffice"

Seems like you don't even need a game... er, assuming you don't go out and regularly stab things now.

Before anyone gets their hopes up, they should be reminded this is a movie tie-in game and therefore has a forecast with light snow showers and a 90% chance of FAIL.

this.

No matter how ambitious your project, a tie-in has to, well, tie-in, and thus puts undue pressures on developers to fit the game in a narrow release window, and the licensing process requires certain similarities that limit creative possibilities, etc, etc.

Except there was no "Butcher Bay" movie so it's more of a spin-off than a direct tie-in.

I'm so sick of Wolverine constantly being shoved down my throat. For christ sake, isn't Cyclops the leader of the X-Men to begin with?

Put some of the other X-Men at the forefront,Wolverine is over used.

Nobody wants to play as Cyclops.

Imagine this:

1. First person shooter with only one weapon.
2. Your entire field of vision is red all the time.
3. You're also kind of a bitch.

See?!?!

@Wing,

I didn't mean a Cyclops game,i'm just pointing out that Wolverine is constantly at the forefront down our throats and he's not even the leader. Why not make a game with someone like Night Crawler or even Gambit. We've already had a Wolverine game and i'm sick of seeing him nonstop.

Gambit had 2 of his own mini-series and was leader of the X-Ternals in place of the X-Force for a while. Additionally, while Nightcrawler never had his own series, Marvel themselves rated him as the #4 X-Man of all time. I love Wolverine as much as anybody (even owning issue #1 and #85 with the upside-down hologram - how's that for some geek cred), but to say that either of those other 2 wouldn't be sweet in games is a lie. They could even be cooler because they haven't been so fleshed out that you wouldn't be able to do some cool innovation or come up with some neat storylines. Wolverine has been so covered that there is hardly a second of his life that isn't accounted for (or going to be accounted for).

That's Right! WHY THE F**K DOES WOLVERINE GET THIS HUGE ATTENTION!?!?! 3 Movies Worth C**p, Dumbass Directors, Not The Wright Actors To Play The X-Men Characters. WTF IS GOING ON HERE?!?! I Wish Marvel Made Themselves The X-Men Movies. They Would Have Done An Extraordinary Job!! I hope that X-Men First Class and the future X-Men movies will do The characters justice. Especially Cyclops who is my favorite and the Coolest X-Man.

I'm not saying that Marsden is a bad actor i'm saying he isn't the right person to play Cyclops. I mean come on he had to wear shoes that made him taller, because Jackman was taller. AND BTW CYCLOPS IS 6 FOOT 3, 195 LBS. AnD WOLVERINE IS 5 FOOT 3, 195 LBS. ( 300 LBS. with his adamantium skeleton). For God's Sake How Hard Is It To Find Some Guys Who LOOK Like Them !!!! And BTW Sabretooth Should Have Been Way Taller Than Jackman. How The F**K Picks These Actors Man ?!?!?

I like how they're using the Hugh jackman Hollywood wolverine.. those 15 scenes in the movies where he sobs hysterically just solidified this version as the true wolverine for me..

I feel embarrassed knowing at one point I thought of wolverine as a short, stocky, rage filled, ball of hair and claws instead of a tall, well built, even tempered, sensitive modern gentleman.

They're probably going with Hugh Jackman as this is a tie-in with the movie franchise (and the upcoming movie X-Men Origins: Wolverine).... that's just a guess though.

It would be nice to see a comic-inspired game instead, but then again those x-men platformers back in the 16-bit day were pretty crappy...
