Aliens: Colonial Marines will see life on the current crop of HD-consoles and PCs within the first quarter of 2009, SEGA confirmed today. Late last year rumblings were the upcoming shooter's future was in jeopardy when rumors surfaced that SEGA had cut funding on the project after Gearbox Software's Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway saw lower than expected sales results, which prompted Gearbox President Randy Pitchford to release a statement denying the game had been canned.
In a comment to Videogamer, SEGA confirmed the game based on the popular film franchise will release sometime between April and June; the first three months of the Japanese company's fiscal year. SEGA also confirmed the upcoming Obsidian Entertainment developed action-RPG Alpha Protocol will release within the same quarter.

This is beautiful. A joyous and momentous occasion reserved for celebration and glee. In days of yore when i was a young serf, a mere pee-on i dreamt of perhaps one day when my favorite sci-fi movie franchise would come to a futuristic console. Back then i watched my friend play on his Atari Jaguar. I'm breaking out the horns of wine and the cornish game hens tonight. This is excellent news, rejoice ! Milk thistle and juniper berries for everyone !

Haha, NICE ! I'll answer your rhetorical question anyway, ahh not so bad lately, it's drying up this time of year for me, but that's fine it goes in cycles. Thanks for asking. I really like the Alien franchise, I can lose all the medieval talk though. Nice times here.

Remember when a few Fancasts back I suggested a new Predator game? (The Smell-O-Vision gaming Fancast.) This is close enough for now..and it's great news for me as a fan. Glad to hear something about this damn game after so long!

Yeeeahh baby....been hoping this game would be made for a looooong time now. I love the Aliens films (with the exception of the rather pathetic Alien Resurrection) and providing they havent buggered this up gameplay-wise, this should be the best game in my collection so far.
HR Gigers work is truly amazing if not disturbing and I cant wait to see these little sods running about in full HD glory!
This is Pel...last surviving northerner of the UK...signing off lol
