CVG claims to have information, originating from a "secret mouthpiece," that indicates Ubisoft is ready to roll out new installments of Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six this year. Strangely, the mouthpiece forgot to note if these would be sequels to the original titles, to GR: Advanced Warfighter and Rainbow Six Vegas (unlikely) ... or totally new franchises altogether.
In other news, a secret Nintendo mouthpiece tells Joystiq that Mario will be featured in some product this year. Hard to believe, we know, but you're just gonna have to trust us on this one.

I'm sure you can also add another Naruto game for the xbox 360.

Here's hoping that the next Ghost Recon is a bit more like GR2 or Summit Strike in that your character carries less computer equipment and moar BAD-ASS.

Just as long as my AI donkeys don't stand around in the middle of a hailstorm of bullets after I repeatedly order them to take cover behind that building, then Ubi can do whatever they want with the GR franchise and I'll still pick it up.

LoL, true. Squad command has always been a bit spotty in certain GR titles. The thing that I used to hate about GRAW and GRAW 2 is how you had to use all of this extra computer gear and had things popping up all over your HUD...it was like a computer game within a computer game.

Eh, I've always liked the interface. It makes it more tactical and less run-and-gun. The interface in GRAW2 is so much more streamlined from the one in the first game. While the GRAW series hasn't had the greatest storylines the gameplay is absolutely fantastic. One of my favorites the more I think about it.

I hear that General!
As for me, i would like Rainbow to come out with less clunk more spunk!...wait a second..
I mean, less buttons to interact with , like climbing a ladder shouldn't require pressing a button. By the time you shamble into position online you are dead 90% of the time playing against a decent-good team.

True that, Negatron, but..."more spunk"?!?! WTF?!?!
LoL.
I'd just love for the GR titles to be more like the originals and GR2 + Summit Strike. To me, the lack of a UAV that beamed all your enemies' coordinates to you DID make the game more tactical...if you know where they are already, all that's left is to run and gun since the element of surprise is gone.
And seriously, pressing a button to climb the ladder...that *ish* should be gone in this next iteration of R6...hopefully they can make the movement go just a tiny bit faster, though...I don't want the next R6 to be a copy of CoD4, but when an enemy slumps slower than a bullet-timed Max Payne, we have a problem.

I don't know about a new Rainbow Six. Vegas 2 just came out last year, but I could see a new Ghost Recon coming out. Either way enough of these, where's our new Splinter Cell Ubisoft? There hasn't been any news on it, and the last game came out in 2006. I need my splinter cell fix. :(

Wait... I understand the part about you maybe not liking shooters and I don't have an issue with that opinion, but you have an issue with ethnicity in games? Have you actually played Rainbow 6?

Seriously. R6 Vegas sported a veritable UN of squadmates.
Come to think of it, so did GRAW. Shit, they even had a Mexican woman sniper, if I remember correctly.

I hope they re-think the ideas. GRAW2 and R6V2 were WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too similar to the first games that they nowhere NEAR warranted the $60. And both were short.
$120 Wasted.

I never played Vegas 2 (for the reason that you stated) but GRAW 2 was a notable improvement over its predecessor.

It had minor improvements, but it was MUCH too short for me.
Maybe because I didn't play the online aspect I felt like I didn't get my money's worth.

Both GRAW 2 and R6-2 felt like expansion packs or DLC rather than proper squeals. Definitely agree with you that they weren't worth the cost of entry.
GRAW 2 for the PC is a different story though. COMPLETELY different from the console version and worth the money.

I agree that the sequels shouldn't have been full priced games, which is why I didn't buy them, but if you didn't play the first ones then they were definitely worth it. I just think they could have waited longer than 11 months or so between the games and their sequels. I feel the same way about Call of Duty (which is why I plan on only buying the even ones, and borrowing the odd ones.)

I agree with you both. I don't play PC games so I had no clue about the PC version...that's good and I wish the console versions would follow suit.
As far as not buying, I wish I wouldn't have had such an itch to play at that time. Although the same can be said for a lot of the games I buy ;(

Another Rainbow Six? R6V2 just came out last year. Hrmmm.. interesting. Well if it is.. I am pretty sure it wouldn't be Vegas again. If I remember right, I think I remember them saying they wouldn't be going back to Vegas again.
A new Ghost Recon would be nice though.

R6 Vegas got sent back the same day i got it in the mail. However R6V2 was 10 times better. That was an awesome game, and the online was hella sick. I played that for months. I hope we get another r6vegas this year. I didn't care for GRAW that much though.

did anyone realize that the plots of GRAW 1 and 2 were basically you enforcing the North American Union and thus a large part of the New World Order conspiracies?
