CES 2009: Dark Void bolts guns to your jetpack

We recently played Dark Void again at CES in Capcom's suite at Planet Hollywood. We're not going to bore you with the details, as they'd probably be the same glowing ones we dropped on you during last year's E3. Graphics look even better, jetpacking around is still ridiculously enjoyable, etc.

But we simply had to pass on one of the new bits that Capcom told us as we attempted to wipe the stupidly giddy smile off our faces post-demo: They've added guns to the jetpack. Do you get what we're saying here? They took the most awesome invention since the light bulb, the jetpack, and bolted weapons to it. Besides tearing the space-awesome continuum to shreds, it also means man-on-alien-saucer dogfights are a possibility.

Man. On. Alien. Saucer. Dogfights. Let it sink in.

I tried to preorder this at gamestop when it was first announced but it wasnt available, and it wasnt today either. I cant damn wait for this game

Awesome! Almost as good as the gun in Painkiller that shoots SHURIKEN and LIGHTNING!! Seriously. I think it's fueled by boobs and win sauce.

I have never seen such an awesome sounding game have such a banal sounding name. I've been trying to remember the name of this game for months, but I couldn't figure it out. Maybe once I figure out what's up with the void and why it's so dark, I'll finally remember the name.

Man i had the same problem!!!!! That's so weird...me and my friends kept talking about it, couldn't find it on google or anything. They need a better name lol.

This SOUNDS like the best idea ever, but all the videos I've seen of this game make it look like it controls horribly, the jetpack in particular... I guess I'll just have to hope it only looks that way...

All I know is Capcom seems to be awesome as hell again. They were my favorite back in the day of classic megaman and bionic commando, and went south with all of the X ripoffs. With BC, BC:R, Lost Planet, and this, they are pulling off some awesome old school stuff for this generation.
