SOCOM: Confrontation 1.30 patch finally brings Trophies, Party system, bug fixes
24
If you've been putting off SOCOM: Confrontation until developer Slant Six worked out all the bugs (oh, and added a Quick Match/Party system ... and Trophies), then today's your lucky day, friend. The long anticipated 1.30 update was pushed out early this morning, bringing with it the aforementioned features and fixes. Will it be enough to restore Sony's once-proud franchise to the top of your multiplayer shooter-heap? We won't pretend to know the answer to that, so we'll ask you. Is SOCOM back in action?

I didn't want to come back to this game till they released this 1.3 patch. I've been playing for about two hours now, and must say, everything runs very smooth and bug free. Only problem I've had so far is some connection issues, which I assume is coming from the overload of people downloading the 500MB patch. Still, Socom is back in action, and I really hope everyone else gives this game a legitimate chance again.

Sounds great.
Just a few more months till it's released in the old world and I'll join you.

What the hell happened to the previous news? It was about GTA IV DLC coming on Feb. 17th! Ohh... Is this comment going to perhaps get deleted like the article?

Two men in suits just knocked on my door. One of them has a strange looking wand.

the headset is pretty damn sweet. When I bought the package, I viewed my purchase as me buying a headset, and getting a game for free.

Same problem here. When I play online, I just want new people to shoot at. I don't care about clans, stats, or trophies. Why is a storyline so hard?

I went to try it out late last night. I let the patch download while I played World at war on 360. When it finished the PS3 restarted to the game main screen with the confrontation image and music and I could not get past that part to find a game or even shut off the PS3. it didn't act frozen because I could bring up the xmb but I couldn't search for a game, quit the game or shut it off. I flipped the switch in the back and went to bed.

Traded in Socom for COD: World at War. Zero regrets. All those problems took way too long to get fixed. At least I kept the headset. Its pretty sweet.
Counting down to KZ2. Hopefully come launch date, it won't not have the same on-line problems like Socom.
