Amazon drops hints for Monday's Video Game Gold Box deals
Update: It's all going down right here.
For thrifty gamers, Amazon's frequent video game-themed Gold Box sales days are sacred holidays. Admittedly, our luxurious lifestyle prevents us from drooling at the very thought of discounted video games -- but the hints that regularly precede these sales somehow always manage to draw us in. It's like The Da Vinci Code, only with cheap games instead of glaring historical inaccuracies.
Here's the lineup for this Monday's Gold Box deals. We'll leave the Robert Langdoning up to our highly deductive commenters.

I was thinking Viva Pinata 2 for the first and last.... Fallout 3? Idk... i saw radiant and instantly though radiation. =P
Thatoneguy64 @ Jan 10th 2009 7:55PM
Number 1 is obviously Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise
SoCoolCurt (PSN: KillaKornbread - XBL: SoCoolCurt) @ Jan 10th 2009 8:00PM
i already have Little Big Planet but i may bite on number 3 if it's Infinate Undiscovery or The Last Remnant (i hope it's Lost Oddessy, but that's not new enough compared to the other 2 and LBP, so i doubt it). can never have enough JRPG's, just not enough time to play them all lol. other than that, nothing really interest me (assuming your's is the correct list of course).
Bakkster @ Jan 10th 2009 8:11PM
Number 5 sounds like Spore, maybe? Although I might bite on world of goo...
j.howlett @ Jan 10th 2009 8:18PM
the last xbox email i read said they were dropping the price for VP so that's my guess for 1 and i thought the same for the rest except for 3
Soulcrux42 @ Jan 10th 2009 8:23PM
1. Viva Pinata
2. LittleBigPlanet
3. A Square Enix title: Infinite or Remnant
4. Ben 10 for Wii. So obvious it hurts.
5. World of Goo (won numerous awards, most recently at Spike VGAs)
6. Left 4 Dead
7. I honestly don't know. Crescent? Obviously an important clue.
Mr Khan @ Jan 10th 2009 10:42PM
Odd, i was thinking Final Fantasy XI, didn't really consider that it could be one of the SE 360 RPGs
Nebinator @ Jan 10th 2009 7:52PM
Is there a hint for the main deal?
DBoyFlex @ Jan 10th 2009 7:55PM
Maybe Viva pinata TIP.
Moptimus Slime (Leader of the Ryan Scott Defense Force, in honor of the Jan. 6 Massacre) @ Jan 10th 2009 7:56PM
the last is some form of FallOut 3 SE
DBuck_Eye @ Jan 10th 2009 7:59PM
Left 4 Dead is an alternative to No Child Left Behind. That's just fantastic. :D
umm....hello??? @ Jan 10th 2009 8:04PM
if it's L4D I'm interested...wonder what the pricing will be.
Infinite Undiscovery and Last Remnant were both on sale before Christmas for $20 and $30, so I picked them both up at that time...
Josh @ Jan 10th 2009 8:04PM
Or, you know, just check NeoGAF:

Reinard @ Jan 10th 2009 8:19PM
Why, exactly? They're having the same exact discussion.
Josh @ Jan 10th 2009 8:23PM
Because they already have all the answers.
BlackBeltJones @ Jan 10th 2009 8:39PM
Technically cheapassgamer figured it out and Neogaf reposted it.
Josh @ Jan 10th 2009 8:42PM
True; CAG is still credited, though.
Gun Barrier @ Jan 10th 2009 8:17PM

Gun Barrier @ Jan 10th 2009 8:18PM

ChiTownRuler23 @ Jan 12th 2009 3:33PM

Kevin @ Jan 10th 2009 8:58PM
World of Goo isn't a box game. Why would it before sale on Amazon?
Spore is more likely. (maybe a bundle with the addon?)

Best way to show that Amazon sells something is to link to the Amazon page
Kevin @ Jan 10th 2009 10:37PM
Problem was I checked Amazon while living in Canada. Redirected to amazon.ca where it doesn't exist...

1. Viva Pinata 2 360
2. Eternal Sonata PS3
3. Infinite Undiscovery 360
4. Ben 10 Wii
5. World Of Goo PC
6. Left 4 Dead PC
7. Luminous Arc 2 DS
Little Big PSN ID: johnnynumber5 @ Jan 10th 2009 9:44PM
#1 could be a few different games including Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon or some other more obscure title. I would say that the description most closely fits Viva Pinata.
#2 seems to obviously be Eternal Sonata since the game takes place in Chopin's dreams. - **The story envisions a fictional world dreamed by Chopin during his last hours that is influenced by Chopin's life and music, and in which he himself is a playable character, among others.**
#3 The clue "This should hold you over on Xbox 360 ...." leads me to believe it's Infinite Undiscovery. We don't know when FF will release and the word INFINITE in the title makes me think it's a shoe in. It's also right in line to be heavily discounted.
#4 Easy
#5 Easy - I am 99.9% certain it's World Of Goo - a game about slimy goo balls that won many GOTY and Indie Developer awards. The .01% chance could be Spore but somehow I doubt it.
#6 Easy - Opposite of No Child Left Behind is a child being Left 4 Dead. Probably a PC special as opposed to the 360 but there is no way to know.
#7 Easy - 'Radiant Crescent' = Luminous Arc 2 for the DS
Stephen @ Jan 10th 2009 9:50PM
Hoping #3 is Lost Odyssey or Fable II. and I really hope the last one is Left 4 Dead for 360 and not the PC.
ruibing @ Jan 10th 2009 11:49PM
Hey you're good at this. I didn't even think of Eternal Sonata, but it makes more sense than LBP. Either will work for me.
tmmoore_nc @ Jan 11th 2009 12:45AM
* 6:00 AM - Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise
* 8:00 AM - LittleBigPlanet
* 11:00 AM - Lost Odyssey or Last Remnant
