We don't want to ruin the surprise, but we didn't end up winning SanDisk's Rock Band 2 Battle of the Bloggers. But Team Joystiq, comprised of Joystiqers Kevin Kelly and Justin McElroy, former Joystiqer Kyle Orland and GameDaily's Robin Yang. Our band was named, of course, AOL/Time Warner Inc. Presents Robin and the Stiqers.
Yes, we came in second, but it's actually good news for you, as we'll be giving away our consolation prize full of SanDisk goodies. We're not saying that the applause meter used to hand our victory to PC Magazine was rigged, but at least half of our band have opened for The Who. Make of that what you will as you watch the video right after the break.
HEY GUYS! You put forth a valiant effort!! My friends and I ended up getting first place! It was great to put some faces to the names of the people who run the best gaming site ever. Keep up the good work!!
Congratulations to you and for Joystiq for an awesome effort!
I'm no expert, but I have consulted the ancient tome of all music: past present and future and have deciphered the symbols, millions of aeons old to reveal the secret of ultimate success in all future tournaments....
'Turneth up to 11 and ye shall achieve ultimate win'
Why Mr. McElroy you're all gussied up there, you must have visited a habidashery before departing for CES as I was under hte impression you only owned sweatpants and hoodies.
HAHAAHAHAHAAH thats cause my band won that day. TC THE BAND got a 390 cause our singer got a 100 on exp i got an 81 on bass (the calibration was off or i would have gotten a 100) on hard. our guitarist got a 97ish on exp. and the song was "what you want"
Here here bandmate! I totally agree. Joystiq, you guys were SOLID. We knew we really needed to bring it in order to beat you guys. KANSAS... guaranteed crowd pleaser. Nice playing with you though. I'm a FAN of your "Rock" band.
Justin, If this writing thing doesn't work out, you could make it as a musician. I think I saw you do this song live at the Joystiq E3 after party. Some of your best work. However it's no where near as good as your rendition of the Gummy Bears theme. Still my favorite.
Ok, now I get the article about the dude in the sleaveless shirt... you guys seriously need to workout or join a real sports team. Maybe hockey, it worked for me...
