I was going to declare fail until I read the last comic. PA is always good but this one wasn't hilarious.

Star Wars + Controversy = Lulz.

I hear you. The rest were kinda 'meh' but seeing Vader betray Lando like that was damn funny.

The last panel AND the image description sealed the deal on MLaaEG. This is actually the first time I've really wanted to vote for more than one, though.

I like the sombering yet funny 'Altering the Deal' strip this time around. Poor SOBs at EGM/1UP.

So no Marmaduke this week?

Look, I feel bad that people are losing their jobs. My wife's department has gone to reduced hours in an attempt to spare the axe falling.

But it happens. A company bought another company and shut it down. Why the big uproar? I mean it was a frigging gaming MAGAZINE - rendered obsolete by the internet long before now. It was already on life support whether they knew it or not.

While I don't blame UGO for looking after their bottom line above all else (that's what companies do), I do think the firings are a big loss for gamers at large.

Sidescroller dealt with it too. http://www.robotmartini.com/community/viewpost/894

The tetris comparison in My Life as an Evil Genius was taken to just the right place; +1.

GameMarks was gold for it's Star Wars reference. Penny-Arcade this week is probably best to those who know the cost of Cintiq tablets.

Here's our comic for this week: Acronym of Choice http://www.n00bsquad.com/comics/82_Nintendo_WTF_Connection.shtml

I had a lousy time with Wii wifi on Brawl, it was awful, so why pick the one game on wifi that works flawlessly and doesn't actually get these kinds of problems?

The castle vidcons can be pretty damn obscure. The Brawl in the family, though, ones seem a little too... obvious... if you know what I mean.

the depressing thing about vidicons is reading all the people in the comments desperately trying to sound cool or intelligent because they "get it".

Its like that annoying guy who claims to like obscure movies so he sounds intelligent, but usually misses the point entirely.

What are the people with CDs for heads supposed to represent? Developers?

Lord PS3 isn't happy Home is not the success they were hoping for. However the silver lining is that the peasant vidcons, usually represented as discs, are still buying quite a lot in the Home store.

But The Katamari Idiot elicited the most lulz from me, so there it is

The GameMarks strip reminds me of the one Robot Chicken skit that I found to be hilarious, so I guess I'll vote for that one. Also, thank you for the compliment Joystiq. Us readers are very complex (and trollish, but mostly complex).

What issue, specifically? That the text boxes light up green when selected?

Otherwise, i haven't had that problem, latest version of Firefox on Vista

No.

All comments text below 3 stars appears as different shades of blocky green to me. On Firefox on Vista and W7.

Here's a screenshot. It exacerbates the issue somewhat, but you get the point:

http://www.tcnj.edu/~milewsk2/green%20text.jpg

Also, I just realized something: My Vista laptop doesn't show the problem on any browser. However, my desktop shows the green text (only on comments text below 3 stars) on Firefox on both Windows Vista and Windows 7. I can't remember if the issue showed up when I used to have Windows XP installed on my desktop, but if it did, it would have only been after Joystiq got its visual upgrade a while ago.

Strange, isn't it?

Here's another example showing that 3 star text is black like it should be:

http://www.tcnj.edu/~milewsk2/moarGreenTextButAlsoSomeBlack.jpg

Also, I think the text looks worse in Windows 7 than in Windows Vista. The colors are the same, but I think the text is definitely more blocky in Windows 7 (though it could be this new TV that I'm using as a monitor making it look worse, as well...).

Aaaand: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/10/rumor-patent-hints-at-casual-zelda-title/#c16502348

Seems more people see it, too, but this is definitely not a new issue for me. Perhaps this "idiot" guy is seeing it because he just installed W7, maybe? Hm?? Must ask him...

I got it The super pens are the future and I would buy one if they were available here but they aren’t.Why Joystiq? Why you keep tormenting me with what I will never have and which could had happen? WHY?!!!

not ever had the green text issue with FF.

It sounds/looks like a display driver problem to me.

Have you tried checking/unchecking the ClearType option (assuming vista has one).

NO WAY! I just saw the green text issue when I upvoted or downvoted a review on circuitcity.com!!!! The "Was this review helpful?" (or whatever) text is supposed to fade out when you vote on a review, and instead of turning gray then disappearing it turned green and blocky then disappeared!

SO! The issue comes up whenever a website has a "text fade" thing going on, like here on Joystiq's comments that are under 3 stars. I'm not sure what's causing the issue on my end, but at least now I (roughly) know what causes it on a website's end.

So, Joystiq, how do you do the "text fade" thing? Is it some HTML tag, or what?
