When I think of movies that fully take advantage of the hi-def resolution and uncompressed sound that I paid $600 for, I think "My Best Friend's Girl".

I've sometimes wondered, PS3F, why you guys cover Blu-Ray releases but never the PSN Video Store releases.

So I'm asking. Why not?

Good question. I'm curious, how many videos do you own (have you rented) from the PSN Video Store? I made a conscious decision not to delve into that; I like the portability of a disc.

Not very many, truth be told. I've rented the HD version of Masters of the Universe (yeah..) and bought the first episode of a few of the anime offerings to see if they would be of interest to me in whole.

To clarify, I'm not necessarily arguing that PS3F should cover the video releases, but I really am curious why there seems to be this double standard. After all, it could be argued that the PSN releases are more relevant to the PS3, since that service is exclusive to the console. Meanwhile, there are many Blu-Ray disc players on the market now.

I decided to "Cruise" my blu-ray collection, picking up MI, MI-2, and Top Gun. Anyone with a good subwoofer, you owe it to yourself to pick up Top Gun on blu-ray. Also, the picture's pretty dang good for an older movie.
