Joystiq Podcast CES 2009 Special
With Justin back from CES we can present this slightly belated wrap-up of all last week's events, including the Consumer Electronics Show and the 1UPocolypse that's still producing shockwaves.
On that note, thanks to Dan Diemer for his 1UP tribute, which you can find at the end of the show. It's not all sad news, though, as listeners have a chance to win the Joystiq Podcast customized headphones from our friends at iFrogz you can see right after the break. Oh, and HUGE thanks to Louis Senkowsky for our awesome podcast art.

How are those headphones "Joystiq Podcast customized"? Is it because it can produce sound, and Joystiq Podcasts are dependent on sound? Or is it because they're labeled "EARPOLLUTION"? :P
JJ Rooster @ Jan 12th 2009 6:20PM
That Dr. Manhattan looks like Sloth from the Goonies.
His googly eyes are looking at me and through me at the same time!
Peter Moore @ Jan 13th 2009 1:11AM
You know how hard it was to give that damn face right? I tried getting rid of all the skin tones in the face before I finally just gave up.
On, and before anyone tells me that I forgot to whiten (as J.J. Holder, from the JPAG, called him)Dr. Just-hattan's eyes, that was intentional. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to tell who the hell it was.
I like this better than the other one I did though: http://www.joystiq.com/2008/07/11/joystiq-podcast-057-girls-or-vacations-edition/
(Expect me to be making a lot more in the future.)

That is one kickin' pair of headphones. I wouldn't mind having them, Joystiq-customized or no.

Strategy_Panda (The Sandwich Poisoning Crew) @ Jan 12th 2009 7:14PM

JoshPied @ Jan 12th 2009 7:41PM

Cerpin Taxt @ Jan 12th 2009 8:01PM
Ugh...you just reminded me that Watchmen's going to be theatrically butchered in just two months...oh well...funny picture.
The Dark Wayne @ Jan 12th 2009 8:18PM
actually thanks to the legal disagreements with Fox, the movie will not be making it;s March release
Christ-ian @ Jan 12th 2009 9:52PM
Jesus Christ... quit your bitching!
You're the same douches who go apeshit cause Optimus Prime wasn't cab over in the Transformers movie: If the movie sucks, it sucks, but you can't deny that visually this flick looks about as spot-on as it could possibly be.
Vegeta (aka Ska Oreo) @ Jan 12th 2009 10:36PM
Too bad every trailer and all the previews have so far shown that the movie will probably be the most faithful adaptation of the book.
Vegnagun bwf @ Jan 13th 2009 3:03PM
It'll be a faithful adaptation (minus all subplots) and more than half the movie will be in slow motion.
The Dark Wayne @ Jan 13th 2009 7:34PM
the previews ive seen have said that the ending will be drastically different from the book, which is a lot more than the style of Optimus Prime's cab
The Dark Wayne @ Jan 12th 2009 8:18PM
is there still gonna be a regular podcast this friday?
The Dark Wayne @ Jan 12th 2009 8:19PM
Ludwig looks like a better ozymandias than the guy playing ozymandias
Donald @ Jan 12th 2009 8:47PM
So is the podcast moving to a four-way discussion full time now?
Halwende @ Jan 12th 2009 9:23PM
Chris Grant's Hardware Review in 60 Seconds should be a regular feature :)
emirabal @ Jan 13th 2009 7:29PM
I was actually thinking of doing the soundbite thing (if i had time) but i agree, some sort of gaming accessory and it can be old stuff as well.
Quattro @ Jan 13th 2009 1:38AM
A sandwich just isn't a sandwich without the tangy zip of Miracle Whip.
Peter Moore @ Jan 13th 2009 4:20AM
Miracle Whip is disgusting.
Use mayonnaise like a real man.
Unless, you're a woman, then use mayonnaise like a real man.
Quattro @ Jan 13th 2009 7:18PM
I don't like either to be honest.
slycooper_rocker [patapon defence force] @ Jan 13th 2009 5:01AM

If you guys are really interested in the XNA game design GUI programming language you should seriously check out 'Click N' Play' it came out about 12 years ago and seems like its exactly the same thing. Only it allows you to add you own art assets as well.
CH3BURASHKA @ Jan 15th 2009 1:06AM
iFrogz is poop.
