Hmm, how to convey this without spoiling a crucial element of Fable 2 ...
So, you know when that event occurs? The one involving the guy who wants to do the thing? Right, so, when he pulls out the thing and performs the act, you were undoubtedly upset about the change in status of that thing. Which you had but then didn't. If your hero chose the thing (but not the other things), you would then have been left unable to find certain ... things.
You know what? Just go read this thing about Fable 2's Knothole Island DLC. Beware: This golden trail leads into spoiler territory.

*OMG TEH SPOILERZ*
Wasnt the whole point of killing your dog that it was a difficult choice? That it was meant to be a decision with actual meaning? Adding this is just a punch to the nuts. It removes the whole point of it. Think if we would've known about this when we reached the end, a lot of people would've said "Well, Im getting the DLC, so I might as well just let my dog get killed since I can always bring him back later." I mean, I realize WHY they added it, but with how dramatic that choice was supposed to be...its just dumb.

Well, maybe it's not the same...thing you get back. Maybe it's a different one. And, after all, you're still allowed to start a new...other thing you lost. So, if it's really suppposed to be an emotional result, then that hasn't changed. Now it's just more realistic. Because having only one...thing in the entire world is just stupid.
Besides, without that thing the game is gimped.

Maybe it'll be like Bard's Tale and you get an undead version of your dog.

I think I like Dave's idea: You don't get YOUR Dog, you get A DOG. It looks nothing like the one you had, you cant give it the same name, you have to train it from the beginning, etc.

While I kinda agree, I think it's fairly safe to say that most people who buy the DLC wouldn't know about the Resurrection Shrine? They don't seem to be labelling it as the dog bringer back DLC of awesomeness, so there's that. Players would still be able to have that terrible moment of choosing which reward they want without knowing about this DLC's perks.

Well, I was actually annnoyed with Fable 2. Peter Molyneux said that you're dog could be temporary. You could kill it, let it die, then go find another stray dog. Possibly even find like a wolf or something, but nope. A lot of what fable 2 was supposed to be again was not realized. It was a great game, but yet again he promised the world and gave me a continent.

By resurrection shrine they mean 'Peeping Booth' and by Knothole they mean 'Gloyhole'.

maybe including "resurrection shrine" in the title is not a good way to go about keeping a secret

I'm looking forward to the patch for the DLC.
He he.

Woo hoo now the 2nd ending is as meaningless as the rest. It seems the 3rd ending was by far the best because having more annoying NPCs in Sonic words “is no good”.
I have to mention that the death of my faithful companion canine was pretty gratuitous for not saying completely forced in attempt to bring an emotional moment into the game but you know you screwed up to immerse the player into the game if you are doing that stuff late in the game.
DLC or not I think the only way I would return to Fable 2 is if they add the missing chapter. You know what I’m talking about; the last quest was so brief and the final boss fight so pathetic that the whole thing ended before I could finish my coffee.
While finishing the last boss with “BOOM HEADSHOT” was quite satisfactory I couldn’t help but feel completely disappointed when I realized that was the whole thing. No dragon resurrection, mage form or anything just a shot in the head. Hell even the Hobbes gave me a better fight.
All in all Fable 2 was a game that started brilliant and had an enormous potential that completely wasted. If I hear the last quest was short in order to give place to the DLC I will…well I’ll probably just type how outrageous that is and never buy a Fable game in the future unless is on discount and happen to be good.
TL:DR Fable 2 would have been better if the last two quest had been three times as long or if there were two additional quest and a decent boss fight. Maybe some endings that actually go with your character but I guess that would’ve been impossible because that way the game would have been Awesome.

Was this told to you by the guy without the hair, with the accent... you know who says the things to the people, and they are all meh and stuff. Then those other people with the blog and the hair say your thing for the other thing is the best of all the stuff.

So now all they need is another set of DLC to give you a big statue, then more DLC which will give you a big bag of money. Then we'll all be happy.

speaking just for myself, I wasn't planning on buying the DLC unless I got my dog back. And thank you Lionhead, for making me sad when I found his grave site.

Or maybe as a shadow thing.

This looks like it will be a nice addition to this expansion. Does anyone know what time exactly Knothole Island will be released today?

Good job, Molyneux! You just sold out what TINY SLIVER of artistic credibility you might have had with this game!
