The makers of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, CyberConnect2, are planning to unveil something soon. At the moment, we don't know what that 'something' is; however, we will know that info within the next four days when this countdown off the CyberConnect2 website runs out. It's interesting to note that since making the .hack titles for PS2, CC2 has shifted its focus onto Naruto titles for both the PS3 and PSP in 2008.
The impending revelation could be related to either Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm for the PS3 or Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2: The Phantom Forest for the PSP (the only two titles from CC2 in 08'). It's possibly related to DLC for either title, or it could be something completely different. We'll keep watch. In the meantime, discuss.
[Thanks erico316!]

You'd think it may be more than a DLC. To go through the hassle with a website it has to be a game in development, DLCs don't warrant websites. Unless it's a full game add-on.

Could be some DLC for Storm since 4 days would make it Thursaday and it could drop on the PSN that same day. I know I'm reaching here but the DLC packs they've been releasing hasn't been anything new. All those characters are in the game already and the patches just unlock them. At least they could do is add some flash backs to fill in the stuff that they left out from the game. I want my drunken Lee.

Some nice DLC would be suitable, but I don't think they'd go through all the hassle to release DLC with a website, but we'll see.

I hate that! The whole content included on the disc but you need to pay for DLC to unlock it. I think that is totally unethical.
DLC is EXTRA content, not just another revenue stream, making you pay for something twice.
If you've bought the game you should have the rights to use EVERYTHING on the disc, fair enough paying for actual add ons is fine but if the data is already on the disc you've aready paid for it!

Cool, It was a bit of a general comment, rather than reffering to this game specifically. (hell I've not even played it)
But I don't agree with it in general, it's very bad practice.

Speaking of ninjas, anybody else think the original Ninja Gaiden would make an awesome remake ala Bionic Commando Rearmed?
Not like I'm already off topic, but come to think of it, so would Double Dragon.

I bought Naruto:UNS because I really liked the demo but I barely play it because it really bothered me that 80% (maybe more than that) of the game is you just running around a boring town doing mindless repetitive tasks like finding scrolls. The Fighting is pretty great and if the game were more fighting than anything else it would be awesome. Def not buying any more Naruto games.
@6 if the ever made a remake of "Battletoads Double Dragon" (best...union...ever) I'd be all for it.

Yeah the running around does slow the game down but i dont mind. The hide and seek missions are damn hard as you go on and have to find 3 of them within the time limit. I love the fights I just wish they had added all the fights from the SaSuKe storyline. They left all of that out and that was the best story line in the whole anime up to that point. Plus i want my drunken style Lee

I'll take a Bleach game for the PS3 please!

i love UNS. I agree the town stuff is repetitive, but you can skip all that because you can redo the mission and get more scrolls. So Imma do that last.
I hope its online play, so I can whip-up on some noobs!

Hi, I'm Kuukai, writer/translator for the .hack fansite dothackers.net, and an avid reader of this one. We keep CC2 under very close watch, so I thought I'd share what we know.
Sorry to disappoint, but this probably isn't Phantom Fortress. As far as their website is concerned that's old news, since it was released in Japan about 2 years ago:
http://www.cc2.co.jp/narutopsp/index.html
Also, it may be DLC, but as the countdown ends just one day after STORM is released in Japan, it would probably be something we've already gotten over here. I personally doubt they'd put up a countdown just for DLC, but they've never offered DLC before so I can't say for sure.
There are actually two other projects we know CC2 is working on, though. The first is an unspecified DS game, seen here:
http://www.cc2.co.jp/new2/index.html
The second is a new .hack project, with no specifics known:
http://dothackers.net/index.php?start_from=20&ucat=&archive=&subaction=&id=&
Here's hoping it's for PS3!
If you want my opinion, the countdown is almost certainly for a DS sequel to their old RPG, Tail Concerto. The text linking to the countdown from the CC2 homepage says "Please look forward to the 'time' information is released." (yes, with "time" in quotes) This is exactly the same as the text linking to the teaser page for their DS project, and the image on that page (note the clocks), despite a heavy .hack cameo factor, is definitely Tail Concerto (.hack also featured a few Tail Concerto characters). Other supporting evidence for this includes the fact that they recently rebuilt the Tail Concerto website from scratch and the fact that Yahoo! Japan already lists them as "developing Tail Concerto 2." The DS teaser page has also been up for about 2 years, so if you ask me it's about time they officially announce this thing.
