Castle Crashers 'King Pack' DLC releasing this Wed [update]

Update: GSB informs us that the DLC will contain two new characters (Open Faced Grey Knight and The King), a new seal animal orb named Pelter, three new weapons including the Gold Sword, and a King's Heal potion that heals your entire party.

Thanks to one helpful Major Nelson, we've just been informed that Castle Crashers' firstest downloadable content will be releasing to the Xbox Live Marketplace this Wednesday and will be priced at 160 Microsoft points. The King Pack is the DLC's name and if the name is any indication of what'll be included in the paid content, we'd say there'd be a king involved in it somewhere. Now that we think about it, the new content will probably look something like this.

We've contacted The Behemoth regarding this Castle Crashers DLC and are patiently awaiting concrete details.

Yay Castle Crashers! Finally the game's getting some support. It's been about 5 months, but... I guess better late than never?

Yeah, well at least they actually fixed their game first before releasing paid DLC, unlike some other developers we know.

I look forward to the 'OMG this should have been free' outcry.

The base price of the game /was/ 1200...

...and we had to suffer with bad netcode...

This should be free, it's already in the game. You'll just be downloading an unlock code.

I never bothered unlocking all of the original characters to begin with. The only way I would care is if one of them had amazing magic.

Of course, I don't think anything can be better than how awesome the lightning guy is. Bzzzzzap!

Oh yeah. Whenever I play multiplayer with friends, everyone fights over the Red Knight. -.-

1up is also saying there's no XBLA release at all for tomorrow beyond this DLC? That's odd.

They've done this in the past. As well as having Wednesdays where the only thing that happened was games joining arcade hits.

I've still got most of the characters to unlock and I haven't seen the majority of weapons. So I don't really need the DLC.

I also can't see any reason as to why the "new" characters weren't unlockable anyway as they're both already in the game (as computer-controlled characters).

Eh, I've always got some leftover odd number of points, think I'm at 310 or something right now. Either this or the Braid theme...

after my box got the RROD, all my save games were fine except castle crashers, which still had save game data, but all my unlocked characters were gone, and the ones I had were level 1. That is when I stopped playing Castle Crashers. (Had ground my way up to level 60 or 70 on at least 3 characters)

That should be fixed now. Try loading it up again. Unless you played it while a level one and auto saved over your old game.

If they had patched this months ago, and I still gave a shit, I probably would go for this DLC in a heartbeat. Unfortunately I (like so many others) gave up on the game after the first 3 months of it being broken.

Defenitly picking this up!

I didn't know they'd fixed the multiplayer issues in this. I've been holding off purchasing the full game until the netcode was sorted.

So, won't be getting the DLC (certainly not yet anyway) but looks like I'll have to download the full game now.

lol the green knight has a weird heavy combo....... LOL
