Arriving five months later than the US counterpart (and 17 months after the Xbox 360 version), Eternal Sonata will finally make its appearance on PS3 in Europe this February. This cel-shaded JRPG tells a unique story about Chopin. The PS3 version includes content not found in the original Xbox 360 release.
We're not sure why it took so long, but it's finally coming out. Check for Eternal Sonata on store shelves February 13th.

Meh. I played the demo and was duly not impressed.

Agreed, it should take all of 10 minutes to copy the code from the 360's achievements. I'd feel a lot more willing to complete the game if they went the extra mile, considering I have Resistance 2, GTA4, Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Little Big Planet, and shortly Killzone 2 to appeal to my collective nature. Frankly I'm insulted they haven't patched in trophies by now.

Surely since trophies become mandatory in 2009 (don't they?) this will be required to have trophies in EU territories?

I wondered this as well, perhaps its a loop hole were "if the game is already out in a territory dont worry about providing trophies for users new to the product." But then again there are games on the psn that have a trophy patch in the US and not in Europe. Maybe there will be a role reversal.

I complete "Eternal Sonata" twice and I have to say that it's a wonderful game. In the Amercian version there were no trophies and I think it will be the same for EU.
In my humble opinion, however, that's a must-buy game! Hey... don't care about the demo (I know that's not so good).

Once you get past the initial cuteness it's actually a great game. Very well rendered and a good amount of gameplay. Multiplayer really seals the deal if you enjoy playing with someone else. Multiplayer only kicks in during battles, but still is better than just watching. Decent game to get your SO into RPG's with. Still hoping FFVII gets rereleased so I can play that with the wife.

Sweet! I'd play this by myself, but I'm picking it up and I'm going to play it in multiplayer with my friends. Co-op FTW

After trying the demo i can say only one thing:
This game is utter crap.
A boring battle system and a camera that is as limited as Final Fantasy X (2001).
And don't even get me started on character designs...I love cute character art but Eternal Sonata is trying too hard to look "cute" and i think its too much even for a 12 year old girl that lives in a pink room full of ponys.
Save your money for White Knight Chronicles instead.

I really like this game and recently picked it up on the Amazon Golden Box sale. In fact, I had a $25 gift card and with free shipping ended up getting it for $10.00. I don't understand why in the hell Battle Fantasia isn't available on the PS3 in the United States. It's available in the other two regions but not NA for some reason.

Battle Fantasia??? I bought it in Japan last summer, but I really hate it (it's a stupid 2D, like a ps1 game!
