Can someone remind me as to why the DLC is exclusive? was their a deal signed or was it Bethesda's choice?

My guess is money and\or politics.

Someone probably got paid or promised something in return.

Why don't you ask Bethesda.

Actually baby sea tuna... It was I who christened him buzz killington!

Anyways who cares about fallout 3 download content, I'll just sit and play little big planet all day... It doesn't affect me, I didn't even like the game all that much. No problem, whatsoever... *Sobs* Why God Why?

Looks like I'll just have to make my own ninja suit, and wait for the fallout of 2012...

Microsoft most likely paid them to make it exclusive. This is the case with most 3rd party exclusives; be they retail or add-on DLC. I don't think it's the case as much with XBLA and PSN games.

Hey everybody, did the news get around
About a company named Microsoft
Oh, Microsoft just flew into this town
And he's Stealin' up all of Bethesda's meat

[Chorus]
He's hackin' and wackin' and smackin'
He's hackin' and wackin' and smackin'
He's hackin' and wackin' and smackin'
He just hacks, wacks, Stealin' that meat

Microsoft's got a big deep bank
He starts Stealin' and don't know when to stop
All you fellows gotta watch your meats
'Cause Microsoft don't care who's meat he Steals

Ever since Microsoft flew into town
He's been havin' a ball
Just cuttin' and Stealing' for miles around
Single women, married women, Download Content and all

Wakes up in the morning, half past five
Steals from sunrise to sunset
I don't see how he stays alive
Meat's gonna be the death of ole MSoft, yeah

@Doreo

Sorry for playing detective but:

"I didn't even like the game all that much"

and:

"Don't get me wrong, I love the game but the writing didn't wow me."

So do you enjoy Fallout 3 or not? Nice song btw.

The first post I did was sarcasm... That's why I put *sobs* at the end, and asked why god why.

The second was about the story itself, I enjoyed fallout the most because of how much I liked exploring the wasteland... I didn't really care about the story much.

But yeah I like the game!

Something I've been wondering about, is once you finish the simulation can you return to it later on?

Wow...that's a lot of fixes! I've read through ALL issues and I swear to science the only "glitch" I experienced was this:

Fixed issue where dead NPCs would occasionally come back to life.

Yesterday I planted a crap load of mines and blew some chick half way to hell. 5 seconds later she got up like nothing happened and started to talk to me. It was SO freaky...

I'm in no way complaining about this but, I find it SO odd that I haven't come across any problems. Guess I was one of the few lucky ones...

The only glitches I've seen are when enemies get partially stuck in the ground. It usually happens when they're a long way off, and I'm using a hunting or sniper rifle in VATS. By the time I get close they always get 'popped' out. But it does make it difficult to hit them at range, when only half of the enemy is above ground. It happens rarely and only with animals (usually scorpions).

They may not bring the suicidal NPCs back to life, but they gave those NPCs some antidepressants and now they're not suicidal anymore.

I had a Outcast Paladin appear in Megaton because I loaded game and somehow he survived the "wipe" that takes place when loading a new location. He seemed able to navigate around the city, he walked up the steps/ramp to the door and left. I even talked to him on his way and he made one of his "shouldn't you be banging rocks together" comments to me.

Ok So i doubt it, but the Joystiq stories about this keep saying "800 ($10, 50 caps or 100 pieces of scrap metal)" They're not actually allowing people to bypass the price for 50 caps or 100 pieces of scrap metal I would imagine...so is this just meant to be funny? or what?

I'm surprised you didn't throw in the inaccuracy. Walter pays 10 caps per scrap metal found, so 100 pieces of scrap would be worth 1,000 caps.

Things like this make obvious jokes obvious.

Well in all honesty, I can't say I've experienced a "glitch" yet... perhaps I'm too accepting of the game, it is so fantastic. However, I do have a quibble with the rendering of the sky.. I'm not picky but I think its fair to say on the PS3 version the sky is not detailed as well as on the 360, that makes me very sad considering the ps3 is the powerhouse, but it being a much harder kit to develop on I'm not surprised. Lastly, very sad to see no DLC for the PS3, like really? How much money did Microsoft stuff in Beth pants for this one.. Microsoft and EA just eat the competition, so there will be nothing to compete with and game quality will probably just diminsh like mad.

Bethesda hasn't shown much love for the PS3. They're the new EA and I was shocked that they patched it first.

Bottom line, the PS3 version doesn't perform nearly as well as the 360. Framerate drops, jaggy edges, low-res textures, random (temporary) freezing while zones load from the hard drive, etc.

I can't figure out how Oblivion performed better than Fallout3 when Fallout3 is basically a mod.

wtf kind of duct-taped PS3 are you playing on?
Oh you are just regurgitating everything from Gamespot's review. Makes sense...

I loled when they said the PS3 version was inferior when it looks literally EXACTLY the same as 360.

Would be nice if it fixed the system lockups it was giving me every time I got within 50 feet of the Jefferson Memorial. Tried this on multiple machines (both installed to the HDD and playing from the disc).

I've since traded in the game, don't want to pick it up again if it's not actually fixed.

The only major glitch I've found is with the Scientific Pursuits mission. I made the mistake of going to the Jefferson Memorial before talking with Dr. Li and now I have to reload an old save to get the achievement. :(

I can't understand why such an obvious glitch is there. If you're traveling from Megaton, you will always hit the Memorial before Rivet City. You actually have to go out of your way to do it correctly.

I think it's more of a shortcut so the story timeline doesn't get screwed up, because if you go straight to talk to Dr. Li in Rivet City during Following in His Footsteps, then it skips to Scientific Pursuits. I'm not sure if you can go back and do the GNR mission though.

I can say for sure that the GNR mission does work even if you do it out of order. (I didn't talk to Three Dog until after I finished Tranquility Lane.) Still kind of annoying though. It's supposed to be an open world RPG, but the main questline has so much hand-holding that it might as well be linear.

I find exclusive DLC to be the most disgusting practice in gaming ever, be it this, or the PS3 exclusive Mirrors Edge stuff, it's something that should not be allowed. Not only is it annoying for those that only own one platform or another, it also alienates half of the games audience. exclusive DLC is basically payola of the gaming community.

It's not really exclusive if it's for-pay-only. If anything, PS3 owners should be happy that they're being spared an opportunity to blow their money on DLC. I mean, I love Fallout 3 but there's more than enough content in the main game to keep everyone busy!!!

It isn't exclusive if you have to pay for it?

*scratches head*

Sorry, but it is exclusive content until it is released on another platform. So is Gears of War 2 not exclusive since it costs $60 at Best Buy? You have to pay for it after all...
