It's a kick ass game. I just picked up Ico at a movie gallery for $6 the other day - another kick ass game.

One thing that I still admire about the PS2, other than the huge gaming library, was how it was able to attract both the hardcore and the casual in masses yet did not cause any "damage" while doing so...

Yes, I know, so did the SNES, but it wasn't anywhere near (even by the standards at the time) to that of the PS2.

The Snes was popular but it didn't attract any casuals.

I wonder why the PS3 is not selling well. Maybe it's time for Sony focus on the Ps3 and forget about the PS2! Just my opinion!

The other way around would help Sony pockets a lot.
Market the PS2 more agressively, specially on alternative markets. Gain in scale. Launch accessories for it. Put the PS3 aside for a while. There's a whole world that travels by bus out there, and very few people are buying Sony's Ferrari.
Sony should focus on the PS2 and the PSP

Yeah Sony did that in 07 & 08. Now in 09 Sony needs to realize for the PS3 to succeed they need to focus all their attention on it. Like MS did with the 360. If Sony gave a **** about the PS3 we would have competitive DLC. And not have to wait up to a year or so to get DLC from third parties! And also not allow MS to monopolize the third party DLC. If Sony doesn't want to share DLC or third party games do what MS is doing pay for them.

I remember a time when Sony had the best third party support and the best third party exclusives. Sony let that slip right from their hands. Sony needs to tell third party dev to stop with PS2 and get with the PS3. Or Wii the fans have to tell Sony to step up their support for the PS3. Sony has great titles on the PS3 now just wait until they decided to focus only on the PS3. I BET THAT'S WHEN SONY WILL BE LAUGH AT IT'S COMPETITION!

I'd buy a PS2 again if they did one undeniably awesome thing:

PS2 PC DVD burner drive. I know it's a tricky concept to understand, but cram the slim PS2 hardware into a PC's DVD burner form factor, let it function as a DVD burner, as well as output full PS2 games to your PC screen.

A standard DVD drive totally has enough room for two controller ports on the front, then just slap in a cheap heavily partitioned 1GB flash drive for memory cards and I'd bite.

Heck, put that PS2 hardware in a Vaio. That would be cool to have a laptop that works double as a portable PS2. Emulation be damned.

Uh, you know there's a working PS2 emulator for PC now right?

Yes, I've used it. I'd rather have actual PS2 hardware though instead. More reliable and would be much simpler than trying to re-configure the emulator to co-operate with every PS2 game out there.

Besides, we all know that most console gamers have horrible PCs that can't play games.
