Seriously.
It was a great game, but not being able to play online when everyone was actually playing it was a kick in the pants. Then we had the waiting (and waiting... and waiting... with no information) for it to finally come out right in the middle of the holidays when everyone was playing something new. I still haven't played the game online, and I probably never will. They may as well have not fixed it at all.
This game got a ton of hype. The online mode got a lot of hype. The hype justified the fact that it was $15, but I'd say we all payed $5 too much. I'll definitely make sure to wait a week after release and do my research the next time behemoth puts a game out.

What's with people being offended by downloadable content?
People screw up. Software is hard to make. I mean, they put out a patch. What do you want? Do you really want Behemoth to quit developing games that badly?
If you don't want the content, don't buy it. Were you going to buy it even though you don't want it, but decided not to so you could "punish" Behometh?
If you do want it, I feel like you'd be punishing yourself as much (if not more) than Behometh.

I'd love to be a paid customer! It beats being a paying customer!
But anyway, nobody said you weren't allowed to voice your opinion.
And I, in fact, encourage you to only spend your money on things you want. That's what makes capitalism work.
But I just don't understand the opinion. I don't understand why people are insulted when companies release DLC for games they don't like (because it is broken or otherwise). I didn't like "Cheaper By the Dozen". And when "Cheaper by the Dozen 2" came out, I wasn't like "How dare they make more of that movie! Steve Martin is normally funny, and they broke him! Make him funny again before you try to make a sequel to Cheaper by the Dozen!"
Comments like "pass" or "The issues with the original made it so I don't care if they release DLC" make sense. But acting like you are entitled to free DLC for a game that causes you suffering when you play it just seems irrational.

@Erluti, You misspelled "Behemoth" twice yet you make fun of my spelling. Hmm.
Anyways. I would have gladly paid for the DLC if my experience with the game would have been better.
It is like being at a restaurant, your food is served cold, the service is slow and the waiter is a snooty douche. Hence, I will leave a lousy tip and tell my friends to avoid it like the plague.
Now had the manager of the restaurant apologized and refunded me my money, I would give the place another chance.
Offering the DLC for free would have been a enormous gesture of goodwill and mended some bridges IMO.

Obie, I suggest you direct your ire at Microsoft then and not at Behemoth. According to their official post on it, they suggested the content be free, but that it is Microsoft's final decision on DLC pricing and they chose to put the $2 price tag on it.

Nope, just new playable characters and followers:

I really wanna download this but I don't want to connect my 360 to Live until after I finish Fallout (there's a few exploits I may or may not exploit in the near future that the patch fixes). Yes, I know I can still do CC stuff without patching F3, but its a huge bother unplugging and replugging my ethernet everytime I switch games.

You do know it gives you the option to patch games, right?
So if you load Fallout 3 and there is a patch available, it disconnects you from Xbox Live saying that a patch is available. If you opt out of patching, it just keeps you logged offline.
Also, if you ever do patch a game and want to unpatch it, you can clear out your hard drive's cache. In settings under memory hit XXLRXX and it asks you if you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox. Select yes and it deletes all patches you ever downloaded and other random stuff stored in the cache.

That's odd. Is it just on Joystiq or can you not paste anywhere? If the latter is the case, your clipboard (assuming you're running Windows) is probably fubar'd. Rebooting will fix it.

Seems to be working now. I copied/pasted something else to another website that worked.
I guess it just stopped working in that instance. weird

But I spelled it correctly once!
Sorry, "paid costumer" is a pet peeve of mine. Even the person I know who is a secret shopper (and could use the term) doesn't use it.
Also, your spelling is fine- I never took it upon myself to correct it.
But besides my being petty -
"Offering the DLC for free would have been a enormous gesture of goodwill and mended some bridges IMO."
Is something no one will disagree with.
BUT!
In the same scenario of the restaurant, you responded by telling people not to go and not returning to the establishment yourself. You also showed your dissatisfaction by not spending your dollars.
In the restaurant you didn't yell "Hey restaurant, shove it up your a**! How dare you not give me free dessert!"

Oh no it took a development studio of 5 people 4 months to patch a game that had a 3 year production. Now they're asking for $2 of my money for a wealth of new content.
I won't stand for this. Instead I'll sit down and eat my $2 cheese burger.
Which brings me to another thing, cheese burgers are too exspensive these days.

I think a 'wealth of content' is a far stretch. For a $2 DLC patch, it's going to just be some characters and weapons. If it was anything significant (maps, scenarios), it would have gone for more.
Given that I couldn't stomach finishing the game more than maybe half a dozen times (not even enough to unlock all the characters), I don't see how more toons will win my money.

Did they ever get around to fixing the broken online, and crash bugs that was causing profiles to be corrupted?
Got through half the game earlier this year, it crashed on me and I had to start from scratch. Needless to say, I haven't played it since.

a patch was released on Christmas Eve. I haven't bothered to install it or check it out. My experience with the game has basically come to an end. It was a relatively good experience, I got to play a lot of local coop w/ my GF.
Due to all the known issues I didn't get any online play in, which was a major selling point in getting us to buy the game, since I have some friends on the opposite coast that we were going to coop with. The patch took way too long to go live, and we were essentially ripped off.

Yes, CC has gone through a resurgence of online play since the xmas eve patch. I only played it locally before then, and rarely, but now that it's WORKING like it should have been online, I've put probably 100 hours in online. It works, and it's fun. Give it another try.

How on earth was this game released with the multi-player bugs? Did none of their testers try Live co-op? It is a co-op game after all. Did they figure they could make some quick cash and just try to patch before too many noticed? Honestly, they didn't catch the massive network bugs during testing?
I got this game on launch, but won't be rushing to get any Castle Crashers DLC. Once bitten, twice shy. [Not that I think the DLC will be broken, but because I've already paid Behemoth 150% for 50% of a game.]

Download the DLC then delete the patch information. I'd give you 50/50 that it works after that.
