You won't have to wait too long for thatgamecompany's next game, Flower. The soothing downloadable game has you controlling a flower pedal as you navigate it through a dream world using the SIXAXIS controller. A recent preview of the game at IGN UK has revealed that Flower's planned release is some time in February.
We're thinking it'll be a good way to calm the nerves after a session of Killzone 2. A more concrete date and price should be coming in the next few weeks.

I believe you start out as a flower pedal, evolve into flowers and trees, and eventually you're gonna have a city. IF I'm not mistaken...
fl0w was similar except it took place in the ocean and the final sea creature you would evolve into was a dolphin.
I really hope I'm not completely wrong because this would be pretty embarrassing...

well Deshizknight, feel embarrassed. you fly around as a swarm of petals and eventually get to the city I think. no evolving other than becoming more petals. looks really relaxing.
As for flow, dolphin? really? you become a really long fancy energy-thing with a mouth at the end, or the equivalent in one of the other creatures it has. Nothing about it relates to anything irl.

If I remember correctly, FlOw was created by a college student and picked up by either Sony or a separate game development company. I'm going to assume FlOwer is from the same source.
FlOw was the first PSN game I ever purchased and I hated it. To me, it was hardly a 'game'. Having said that, FlOwer looks like grade A quality even if the gameplay hasn't changed that drastically.

Hey, what's up with the picture on this post? That's from "Thatgamecompany" first game, "cloud"... Not very relevant to this post?
Anyhow, really looking forward to Flower, seems to be a lot of fun!

A lot of websites have been doing this to Flower and flOw ever since they were first being introduced to the public.
Those of us at the TGC (thatgamecompany) forums have become used to it.
Anyways, I am extremely happy that it's finally coming out!

This game looks so simple, I wonder what's taking so long to release it.

I think there's a big increase in production values from flOw to Flower and there aren't that many guys and gals from thatgamecompany and SCEA Santa Monica Studio working on the game. It's critical they achieve a high level of polish.

Am I the only one that noticed that it says flower pedal?

No. But SCEA misspelt petal the same way in the game's first press release. :P

No, but SCEA made the same mistake in Flower's first press release. :P

guessing it'll be simular gameplay-wise to flow, but the visuals are so surreal. i wonder how much it'll cost?
