The Resident Evil 5 demo is coming to the US -- this time officially -- and is "premiering exclusively" the week of January 26th on Xbox 360, so sayeth the Major. The demo features two levels that can be played either solo (with AI support) or with a buddy via split-screen or Xbox Live -- yeah, it's the same as the Japanese demo, unsurprisingly. No word on the release of a PlayStation 3 demo, but we've poked our Capcom contact and will let you know what we find out. In Japan, the PS3 demo is only available on a bonus disc.
Update: A Capcom press release clarifies that the Xbox Live demo will be released on Monday, January 26th and, for Gold subscribers, will be "available exclusively on Xbox 360 for one week" -- at which point the PSN version will be released (during the week of February 5th). In addition, the Resident Evil 5 TGS trailer will be available for download on Xbox Live beginning this Friday, January 16th. [Via PS3 Fanboy]

Does this mean the RE5 is a Xbox 360 Exclusive? Sure sounds like it.

The Japanese RE5 PS3 bundles would say otherwise.

Actualy it's probably because on PS3 RE5 demo is worse than on X360.
You know textures, effects, framerate...

Multiplatform games and PS3 simply don't mix.

El, not trying to join the lovely ongoing flamewar you two are having, when's the last time you actually voiced some kind of an actual opinion as opposed to just running in, going all ad hominem on somebody who is insulting your beloved console(or just writing anything,as long as they have the reputation of a fanboy)then being gone as quickly as you came?
Last five pages would like to disagree.

Stop beating the long-dead 'Well, you trolled LBP so that gives me an excuse to troll' horse.
Yes, I did have a rather unpopular opinion on LBP and on reflection I do regret the effort I wasted on what was pretty much trolling at that point given how biased the community was.I still believe that I was ultimately correct in my predictions(Great game, ruined by hype and Sony's meddling), but that's a different discussion.
However, unlike you I've never flamed anyone on these forums. So unless you can find me one example of me directly throwing insults at everyone, don't dare comparing my 'trolling with enough dignity to have enough ground I can stand on' to your 'let's insult the op trolling'.
PS: The fact you were trolling long before my holidays spree(when I really had too much time and regret it now) doesn't give you much right to accuse me either.

As someone who has already played the region-locked version several times with and without a co-op partner, I must say the demo is a lot of fun.
Enjoy, all you newcomers!

Cute trollan as usual, anonim. When your own link takes the wind out of the point you are trying to make, it isn't very helpful for you:
"For now, treat the results as temporary. The gulf of difference, when viewed in motion, is not as large as I had expected. In fact, I was quite surprised when I went back and looked at the screenshots. Going from one to the other, I really couldn't find these subtle differences between the two versions until I compared screenshots directly."
So he couldn't tell the difference until he went back and scrutinized individual screens. I looked at most of them, and many show negligible differences at best. And, of course, this is the same company that made DMC4 look better on PS3.

@serp
The article is actually pretty good, but he's trying to use it even though it acknowledges that they are different demos and neither is indicative of the final product. But that's just what he does. The article will say "As you can see by these screenshots designed to highlight differences you can't even see when actually playing the game, the 360 is a little better." and he translate that as "ZOMG 360 FTW". It's just especially inaccurate here.

I was disappointed with the demo. The weapon select is garbage. Maybe this issue will be fixed for the US demo. The Japanese one was a disappointment.

Yeah, I'm kinda concerned my thirst for RE5 co-op action will have been satisfied already by Gears 2 and L4D.
Then again, I'm just happy I can type that. Xmas-360 for the win!
Also, RE4 Wii is one of my favorite games ever. I'm not sure I can happily return to dual-stick RE. Even being a new 360 owner, if this game were available with online co-op and dumbed down graphics/physics for Wii, I'd buy it for Wii.

The Joystiq staff should delete all this FANBOY CONSOLE WARS NERD RAGE.
It'd be fun to read the two comments left.

After all the shit Sony does for Capcom, parading them with their own section of the PlayStation Store, etc., these pricks can't at least release a demo at the same time as the XBOX 360? They use the excuse "Gold members get exclusive 1 week preview" like it's up to Capcom to decide that. All demos are blocked for silver members, we all know that Capcom.
