I'm pretty sure that the UK getting a "free demo" means anyone with a PS3, an internet connection, a PSN store (sorry Mexico, etc.), and the know-how to set up a fake account will also get this "free demo".

Yeah I was definitely holding out for it. But then about a week ago I realized they weren't doing one so I pre-ordered to make sure I got a demo code before they ran out.

They should just do what God of War 2 on the PS2 did:
Offer ONE version for regular price that had collector's edition content like developer feturettes, concept galleries etc.
I swear every high profile game should have that content for free.

but also have a collector's edition with a soundtrack, a helghast figurine, a code for a helghast costume for your sackboy and home avatar, and an "Art of Killzone 2" book. that would be the ultimate CE. the soundtrack actually should be a preorder...
and before anyone says something, yeah i know that's basically resistance 2's CE with a killzone 2 skin. but that was a great CE so this could be too.

This is very disappointing and real proof that SONY is in poor situation. They cut cost on everything even on
their "last hope" Killzone 2.

Hmm, interesting that you should say that Sony would cut costs with this game. I'm not sure if it's true, but when I was working at GAME (handed in my notice due to some arguments with my manager!), one of the radio presenters for GAME Live mentioned that the budget so far for KZ2 was 50million USdollars.
That doesn't exactly seem like the cheap option!
Also, are you trolling or just an idiot? Why would nothing help KZ2 sales? Has it suddenly been getting inverted reviews. Last time I checked it was getting glowing reviews from everywhere. Even Eurogamer!

"last hope"? Are you serious.....? PS3 has/will have too many good games with extremely high production values to consider just one of them a "last hope" imo (Uncharted, LBP, R2, MS:PR, InFamous, GoW3, etc.). Yes, this is one of their flagship titles, and I do feel they should have added co-op in there because every other shooter is doing it nowadays, but as long as the single player/multiplayer was made better b/c of it then I'm ok with that.
It's not like the 360 where if either one of Halo 3 or GoW2 bombed then they were screwed...

i never played the 1st Killzone and before Christmas i was looking for it but could not find one. so i thought it would be nice if a CE came out with a nice Macfarlane Toy Figure of a Helghast Character. if it wasn't a macfarlane produced figure that's ok as long as we have one .. but we won't .....but HEY ! maybe they will get them to release some figures for Killzone 2 we can only Hope. and Killzone 2 MP Beta was not bad i played it a bit but one thing i didn't like about the Beta .. but i won't mention anything about it

Good straight up buy it don't have to worry about what I am missing out on with a CE. No debating which to buy, looking from store to store for the sold out CE, just go out and pick the thing up.
I think it's a good idea cut down on confusion and just sell copies.

I just didn't understand your earlier comment that they're cutting costs by not having a collector's edition. Charging more money for some galleries and making of movies generally MAKES money, not costs.
I do agree with co-op being a much added value though. I'd rather play with 1-3 other friends against a bunch of Helghast than play with 1 friend against 2 other friends. Or with a bunch of pubbies shouting into their headsets.

special limited edition are dumb anyways. first they are never limited editions anyways. they are everywhere. Like the halo 3 special limited edition. that helmet is everywhere always.
im just glad they have one game edition and thats it, makes it easy and simple.

I don't know if it will actually be released in it's advertised form but in NZ if you pre-order you at least get a colletors tin box and I think an art book. Maybe that's what this story is denouncing...ah well, the game should be awesome and either way i'm pre-ordering.

That's a blog that happens to have that name not OXM, the official xbox magazine. Nice try though. For the record they did like it but if you read the article you would also know they barely played it. Just clearing things up. I think KZ2 could be successful, with that said enjoy Killzone 2 for what it is not what it could be.
