December NPD: DS sells over 3 million, '08 sales reach $21.33 billion

And here comes the paragraph where we tell you about Nintendo's unstoppable success. America bought 3.04 million DS systems in December and another 2.15 million Wii consoles. The best selling game, not only for the month but the entire year, was on Wii (and bundled with a controller). You win again, Wii Play.
As for Microsoft, the Xbox 360 did a respectable 1.44 million units, nearly double that of the PlayStation 3, which sold 726K. The PSP fared better with 1.02 million sold, and the trusty PlayStation 2 still managed to shift 410k units. Don't feel bad about its position at the bottom of the chart, though. Everyone gets a green arrow for Christmas!

Right now Reggie and Satura Iwata are soaking it up in a pure gold bath tub. Then that Miyamoto guy runs in and drops his DS in the tub and laughs because he could drop a couple thousands ds' in a tub and no one would care.
They all look down at the bubbles in the tup and Iwata says "I didnt know that we added bubbles to the tub" and Reggie just has a creepy grin on his face

It's like nobody appreciates a good troll anymore. A good troll is like a Friar's Club roast: creative and funny, and anyone can have a laugh at it unless they're super invested in it like wiilordgundamvesperassassincompanionphoenixbuttcheek. It's just the idiots that get pissed off.

KZ2 will suck cause KZ1 wasn't what you expected? Yeah that makes sense.
Blu ray sux cause YOU don't care about blu ray, but the rest of us do? Yup, obviously your opinion matters more.
If you wanna use outdated complaints, then i guess it's fair game to mention that issue that the 360 had and is still having:
Scratching disks, RROD, using maintenance cost as an excuse to charging for online mp, even though most of the big 360 games relies on host connection. Like I said, slap on a premium price to fake quality.
Did I mention RROD? yay MS let me pay for hardware that breaks more than 30% of the time, then asked me to pay for the repairs, until their PR dept was overwhelmed! yay! No wonder MS isn't beating their chest proudly. At least they have a sense of shame.

Aside from the crappy economy, HD entertainment has encouraged a lot of people to buy HD TV'S. What's the point of buying HD TV if the only HD content is from video games. So then there's the HD channels and Blu ray.
Even if you still just buy dvd's, ps3 is still one of the best DVD upscalers. A blu ray player is still the best way to get 1080p content, and to the average consumer that invested on a 1080p TV, they'd like to be able to take advantage of that feature. A PS3 will also play games like KZ2 and Uncharted2. :)

Almost everyone has a DVD player
Companies still make regular DVDs
Not everyone wants to over $200 to get some extra lines into their movies
There may be a time when Blu Ray becomes a viable format. That time will be when a regular Blu Ray player can compete with a DS in terms of price. But as of now, price is still a major deterrent for a lot of people. I can see why Sony put Blu-Ray in the PS3, after how successful the PS2 was with its DVD playing abilities, but that just put the console into this who other dimension of price.

But it isn't impressive when you consider context: half the price and crappy economy. It's the "impressive" part of his comment that I think is misleading. That's all.
