European Resident Evil 5 collector's edition revealed

Capcom Europe has revealed, via Electronic Theatre, that PAL territories will be receiving a Resident Evil 5 collector's edition. As seen above, it will feature a steelbook case and an extra DVD containing behind the scenes footage and a trailer for Resident Evil Degeneration (so called because the movie degenerates as you're watching). European gamers can expect to get their hands on this at launch on March 13th 2009. That's less than two months away, are you excited yet?

not at all... I loved resi 4 but I just cant seem to get excited for this :S
Maybe Killzone is just drawing too much of my attention

i was kinda excited but not so much anymore. i'll check for the demo but i can't seem to get into every RE game. it's like i don't feel like playing it but i'd watch someone else play

I think the difference between Resi 4 and this is that although 4's emphasis switched more to action, it was still quite scary in places. With 5 it simply looks like a generic action game and bears absolutely no resemblance to previous entries in the series. Without the Resi franchise name I doubt much attention would be paid towards it.
Online co-op? Come on! Yes I know there was Outbreak, but that was more on survival and escape rather than "kickin' ass". *sob*

libertine07, play RE4 again.

Trust me, you'll get excited for RE5.

Oh, and try to play it with friends around, or watch other friends play it. Makes it even better. :)

Not really looking forward to it either. As far as I can tell now, the only game worth dropping money on in 2009 is gonna be Modern Warfare 2. Sad to admit, as its a ways away, but nonetheless true.

ClarkyCat you've summed up how I feel about this game entirely... It does look like a somewhat generic 3rd person 'action' game but just with slightly hammy controls..

And Josh you're right I will play RE4 again! But I think it will convince me to just not buy RE5 and stick with 4 instead as they look like largely identical games (with slightly better controls and graphics).. oh but the Co-op will kick ass I'm sure :p

Dan are you not excited for Heavy Rain, Killzone 2 or God of War 3?

Looks to be like the same kind of content you got in the Devil May Cry 4 CE, pretty disappointing TBH. But man, those steelbook cases freaking sweet, that might be enough for me to bite, damn you Capcom.

if this is all you got for the collector edition, it should be $70 price instead of $80

Why the extra DVD? The Japanese version has the PS3 exclusive "Hollywood Produced" video documentary on the game Blu-ray. Capcom even made a big deal out of the whole "world's first hybrid game+video Blu-ray Disc" thing. Fill up the Blu-ray and save us from the disc-scratching/harder to handle 2-disc cases.
