YouTube has unleashed its beta for YouTube for Television, a more Wii-friendly version of the popular video site. Being the curious folk that we are, we've dived into the service and produced a handy little walkthrough on how to get started checking out videos. There's a neat little search function that remembers your content, as well. So, hit the button below to start the tour, then boot up that Wii and watch some videos yourself!

Can't you set the Opera buttons to auto-hide. I seem to remember doing that.
Although I haven't used it in ages. The Wii won't pick up the WiFi signal from my room.

that's only if the settings are set correctly, otherwise its static or automatically disappears.

its been like this for months, just not called youtube for television. I sent in a news report about it like 2 and a half months ago. I sent it in 4 times, but no one responded. I wondered whether somebody posted about it and i missed it. or maybe there just wasn't enough info for a story. Whatever, just glad everyone knows now

Layout is good.
Resolution of videos is way too low when compared to non-TV version of YT. (Especially when in full-screen mode)
Also the oversized controls often obscure about half of video. Especially annoying in full-screen mode.
Well, overall I'm happy that YT started doing something. I hope this is just beginning.
I have tried to use Internet channel with YT's QuickList as background for workouts before, yet, layout of main site wasn't very well scaling to the relatively narrow TV screen. Probably in few month it would be worth to check the TV layout again.
