Sometimes, it seems that games are created just for us. They're lovingly mixed together from base ingredients we can't resist, rolled out on a floured surface, cut into Joystiq-logo shaped cookies and baked to a delicious golden brown. That's exactly what Jolt Online has done by resurrecting the "Zork" franchise in Legends of Zork, a casual, browser-based MMO.
Aside from telling Gamasutra that the game would feature microtransations and that it could be played on a computer or iPhone, Jolt's hasn't spilled much in the way of details. But rest assured that we'll be buying the game (or buying a wicked cool sword in the game, as the case may be) on day one.

I would not hold your breath for anything great, Jolt only claim to fame is its a sucky game server provider, last time I heard, sub-letting someone else's server cluster was not a pre-requisite for a MMO developer... poor Zork. "Yeah, I run a Counterstrike server, maybe I can write games now..." doomed...!

Can we get a version of Grand Inquisitor that we can install on an operating system past Windows 98? And no, I did not wish to install gametap just to pay a monthly fee to play it (without subtitles for some reason).
Your sword's blowing glue! Wait. Let me try that again. Your sword's glowing blue!

This is quite the coincidence: I just heard about this series for the first time yesterday. One of my co-workers loves to say "Shun magic, shun the appearance of magic, shun everything, and then shun shunning!" but he couldn't remember where he knew the quote from. Finally, I decided to google the phrase yesterday to figure it out and learned all about Zork. It sounds like a great series.
I doubt that anybody gives a crap about that but I felt like sharing :p

This is great. I got a Blackberry for myself for Christmas and was just thinking "man, zork would be _awesome_ during statistics". Here's hoping it will support all mobile browsers, not just iPhone's...
