We have a lot of fans of Burnout Paradise here at PS3 Fanboy. In fact, it won PS3 Fanboy's award for Best Racing Game and Best DLC. Those that have experienced everything Burnout Paradise has to offer can look to more fun in the upcoming multiplayer-focused Party Pack. This premium DLC will be available on the PlayStation Store on February 5th. Not only does it add new modes to your game, it will also give you access to a new batch of Trophies.
If you don't have Burnout Paradise yet, there's never been a better time to pick it up. In the US, the game has officially dropped in price to $20. Europeans will be able to purchase Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, which includes the game and every add-on released so far. Expect that in retail stores on February 6th.
Update: In addition to the premium DLC, Burnout Paradise fans can also expect a FREE patch which, according to the Criterion blog, "includes the introduction of our all-new in-game website and awesome in-game store. We've also worked on changes to game modes, visuals, the entire vehicle dynamics system. Oh, and we've added a restart !"

20 BUCKS. YAY!!!
For some reason I just never got around to buying Burnout Paradise. Now that it's 20 bucks I have no excuse.
Anyone know if it's only 20 bucks retail or can I buy it from home(my house, not HOME) on the PS Store?

It's still $30 in the U.S. PSN store too. Retail the game has dropped to $19.99 most likely to clear stock for the Ultimate Box.

I also know that there is going to be a general update to the game as well! They are adding restarts to races at any point...so you know when you make that wrong turn onto the train tracks and have no chance of winning?...well, with the update you can just pause and restart the whole race!!! cant wait for this option!!!!!!

I actually emailed criterion a while ago to ask about this feature. really to complain that it was not included. The email response that i got back was that "it would be included in the spring update".

Does anyone know if your personal Trophy completion status will be affected by the availability of this Party Patch?
This is something very annoying when you get all the Trophies for a game and your Percentage meter shows that you only have 85% of Trophies, after the DLC drop, when you earned them all. For example, Super Stardust HD has the complete list of Trophies you can get for the game but to get the last five, you have to purchase the DLC to get at the game modes that correlate to the Trophies. My completion reads 65%.

Yes it does...the trophies are already on the PSN - if you go to Compare Trophies you will see them. My trophies dropped from 71% to 68% or something. But not sure if it affects Platinum trophy.

What'll happen is your percentage will go down because you won't have 100% anymore, but you'll still keep your platinum.
If you go compare trophies to someone and look at Burnout, that is already the case because for some reason the new trophies are already listed there.

Yes it will be affected, I have platinum on Burnout Paradise and although it still shows 100% on my own trophy list, if I try to compare it with another player in my friends list, it says like 95% or something as the other Party Pack trophies show up there now.
I don't really see it as a big issue tbh, you don't lose out on getting platinum or anything, (it just won't show 100%).

the added trophies from this pack won't affect the platinum if you already have it or even if you don't. as long as you get all the ones before the cagney update you will get the platinum. i should know since i have it.

Getting this straight...
Your personal Trophy list (filed under 'Game') will show that you have 100% of the Trophies, with the Platinum being earned.
When you COMPARE Trophies with friends, it will show that you have, I don't know, 90%?
However, say you are a late adopter of the game, do not buy the DLC, earn all of the Trophies that are free, will you then be able to get the Platinum Trophy? Or are they going to force you into making a purchase for that Platinum?
To me, I really think that any and all future additions to the Trophy list should be a free update, not included as a perk for other DLC (sales tactic). If the aforementioned scenario plays out like I fear, it just makes Sony's 'manner of operation' look broken and disheveled.

The requirements to get platinum trophies for any game do not change (as far as I am aware and have not seen any examples saying otherwise), and this is even if more trophies are added after the game is released. What will change is your % completed, but that's it, whatever the requirements are at the start will stay that way.

i didn't pick up the game until after the bikes were added and was able to get 100% in the game and the platinum without ever playing the bikes or getting a bike specific trophy. there's no reason to thing that should change with the party pack and new content.

@thehakku,
you are wrong my friend, I am loving the idea of a restart feature.
@Jarhead,
The rules for platinum trophies (and been followed by additional trophies) has been the same with every game. The platinum only requires the original trophy list to be completed, no matter when you bought the game.
You do not need any trophy except the ones with the city scene on it to get the platinum, which I believe at his point is 75% of the trophies.
Does anyone know if the party pack is coming with/or at the same time as the new cars? I am dieing to get behind the wheel of Doc Brown's Delorean ... err I mean the 88 Special.

what i hate about the trophies is that people who have completed the game earlier and have a platinum trophy will have their percentage reduced, and if they want 100% again they have to purchase the DLC in order to do so, i can't personally buy the DLC because i have the american version of the game so i have to purchase the PAL ultimate version to get all the DLC and loose my 100% gamesave in the process, thanks criterion.
little big planet is guilty of this crime too, in order to get 100% trophies you have to purchase additional DLC to get a platinum trophy, they really do think people will pay good money for 100% trophy completion on a particular game, this also seems like it will become a habit with game developers to rip customers off too " we give you 10% of the retail game in the beginning and then charge you for the other 90% later...and make you do your trophies again, just for good measure" ;)

He said he's purchased the boxed US version, but because he's EU he cannot purchase US DLC, therefor he's unable to play the full game if he wants to pay for it.
His only option is to shell out for the Ultimate version.
The issue is that while games are multi-region, the stores and their content cant cross territories. You buy a US game, you have to use US content. Same for EU and everywhere else.
It'd be fine if you could purchase items from the foreign stores, but doing so isnt exactly easy (because they dont want you doing that).
HUYI - Your post may just convince me not to buy the US version at $20, however i doubt i'd buy the ultimate version, i cant see it being released with a 1yr old game price, and while i cant say im know eitherway, this fanboy post says 'Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box, which includes the game and every add-on released so far.' Which i thought had only been free DLC anyway (i could be wrong) which means theres nothing of monetory value extra, just saves you downloading and installing each part maybe?

I am really looking forward the Party Pack. I started playing Burnout in the PS2 with my friends. The different game modes were perfect for everyone choosing one challenge depending on their gamestyle.
Burnout Paradise is a great game but I am sure the pack will add a lot of value to it.
I also dont mind paying for DLC after all the great support from Criterion.

You pay for all your trophies, that's a fact.
But maybe Sony should change the percentage to go over 100% instead of calculating it the correct way... might feel better that way ;)

It doesnt need to go over 100%, it just needs them to be seperate.

No more, no less, keep the original title to itself, if you've nearly completed, then the fact is you've got say 90% done. It shouldnt be 120% because you've done 90% of the original and 60% chunk of the addon (assuming each DLC is worth 50%).
Just let people know how much you've completed for each, but displayed individually.

Besides the "awesome in-game store" they're also adding a "wicked privacy policy" and a "totally rad EULA".
