I need to buy Lips for Jet. Who will join me in this mighty crusade?
JJ Rooster @ Jan 16th 2009 10:19AM
I will only buy Lips once they patch it to work with Rock Band.
MOT @ Jan 16th 2009 4:06AM
Song choice seems a little too odd to me. "When I grow up" by the Pussycat Dolls? I can't see any guy, or girl, for that matter, actually wanting to sing that song. The two Rihanna songs are a bit much and I don't think "Water Runs Dry" has the right tone for a party. It's actually a slow downer of a song.
Tiptup300 @ Jan 16th 2009 4:07AM
Do the mics have controls on them? So i can just run Rock Band mic just by the mic itself and no controller.
In A World (XBL) @ Jan 16th 2009 4:27AM
Nope, no controls on the mics, just fancy flashing colors.
Tiptup300 @ Jan 16th 2009 5:13AM
how does it sync?
NemesisCW @ Jan 16th 2009 5:52PM
There is one button on the bottom of the mic to turn it on (push and hold) and to sync (Push and release quickly). Or something like that.
Blank-Mage @ Jan 16th 2009 4:45AM
That playlist makes me want to stab an orphan.
whistlepig @ Jan 16th 2009 6:59AM
the singstar store makes me wanna do the same thing
baby sea tuna @ Jan 16th 2009 8:19AM
You can't really blame the games as much as the state of pop music in general. When the radio songs make me yearn for the days of Stone Temple Pilots (a band I HATED with the fury of a thousand suns when they were around,) you know there's a problem.
343 Guilty Fart @ Jan 16th 2009 1:01PM
Wow baby sea tuna, I know exactly what you mean.
DeanXeL @ Jan 16th 2009 5:23AM
wow, and here was I thinking that Singstar had had crappy DLC here in Europe... Lips seems to feature more bad songs, less features, and a higher price! On the other hand, atleast Lips' mics are wireless and have flashing lights in 'em?
Mark @ Jan 16th 2009 5:39AM
The DLC for Lips seems a bit incoherent. Oh well..
I'm looking forward to copping that Cardigans song.
Ordeith @ Jan 16th 2009 12:36PM
I think the problem may be that MS is using the music imported from people's libraries to determine what to release as DLC.
Some of these songs were chosen because it is what people were using in Lips anyway, although without notes, lyrics, or the video.
So people have strange taste.
anthonyjh @ Jan 16th 2009 5:44AM
Lips should come boxed with 180 proof liquor.
Karaoke: Lame as hell.
Drunk karaoke: The sport of kings.
dark_inchworm (on Steam!) dark inchworm (on XBL!) @ Jan 16th 2009 9:56AM
Drunk Rock Band guitarin' is also a blast. Bonus points if you can actually pass anything on expert guitar.
Haven't tried expert drums while drunk... but have you, reader?
Jeramy @ Jan 16th 2009 12:11PM
the dude always has his priorities straight
ittybittygirl @ Jan 16th 2009 6:28AM
$2.25 to relive those Saturday morning post-slumber parties in which TBS seemed to always air Top Gun? Sure, I'll bite... but never again!
-----
In other unrelated and somewhat disturbing news, Rock Revolution fans can now play Pantera's "Cemetery Gates." I think I type for all Rock Band and Guitar Hero fans when I say, "WTF?!?"
anthonyjh @ Jan 16th 2009 6:53AM
I hear it's all covers with RR, though.
Air guitar>shitty covers.
mr mobius @ Jan 16th 2009 6:39AM
Think I'll stick to Wii Music.
baby sea tuna @ Jan 16th 2009 8:22AM
Jeez dude, let's not go overboard here. This game isn't *that* bad!
mr mobius @ Jan 16th 2009 8:37AM
Nice to see that people can't pick up sarcasm.
I was playing on the preconceptions that Wii Music sucks.
As a Nintendo fanboy, I have no desire to play it.
AwesomeTown @ Jan 16th 2009 7:17AM
This list reminds me never to buy Lips... ever.
Archon @ Jan 16th 2009 7:32AM
I think the Lips DLC guys teamed up with the GH:WT DLC guys. Both those lists suck major ass.
GundamWingEW @ Jan 16th 2009 8:04AM
The only thing better than holier than thou righteous gamers is holier than thou music listeners.
Really shut the fuck up. The songs you guys are dissing are among the most popular songs in the US right now. Rihanna is huge. So are The Pussycat Dolls. Maroon 5 is amazing and I love that they included that oldies song by The Righeous Bros.
Lips is actually looking really good. I'd definitely get it if I had any singing talent.
ittybittygirl @ Jan 16th 2009 8:13AM
doth thou needeth thine pedestal so thou might preacheth to thine flock?
baby sea tuna @ Jan 16th 2009 8:23AM
Methinks thou needest better taste in music.
ChooChooCharlie @ Jan 16th 2009 11:42AM
Just because a song/artist is currently popular doesn't mean it isn't complete and utter shit.
Go ahead and wait 10 years and try and make your claim again. No one will even know who you're talking about.
ScottG13 @ Jan 16th 2009 8:27AM
Does Harmonix bellow a hearty laugh every time GH:WT or Lips announces more cruddy DLC?
Arturo @ Jan 16th 2009 8:29AM
I don't care for the game, but the girl with the mic is cute. :P
samfish - RIP Ricardo Montalban :( @ Jan 16th 2009 9:09AM
I love the Cardigans*. It's so nice to see them on one of these music games finally.
...although I wouldn't have picked that song. It's not very singable.
*Yes, I realize that this means you're allowed to question the size of my penis.
whistlepig @ Jan 16th 2009 9:14AM
im sure your penis is fine .
dark_inchworm (on Steam!) dark inchworm (on XBL!) @ Jan 16th 2009 9:50AM
I would buy Lips for "Lovefool." I am being completely sincere here.
And for the record, I could smack the fuck outta y'all with this dick.
...even if I have to get really, really close
343 Guilty Fart @ Jan 16th 2009 1:04PM
You... have a penis?
kiwi @ Jan 16th 2009 10:16AM
That list would be much better if it were "Take a Bow" by Muse instead.
And burn
You will burn
You will burn in hell, yeah you'll burn in hell
You'll burn in hell
Yeah you'll burn in hell
For your sins
