I'm starting to get pissed. Support keeps telling me how to update to the NXE, but I ALREADY HAVE THE NXE!!! I wish somebody there spoke english. For crying out loud.

Well i tried reformatting the hard drive and that wasn't the issue. I also bought a 256Mb memory card and that didn't solve the issue either. So i am guessing it has to do something with the whatever on board memory that is inside the the 360. Just out of curiosity did you get the Nov 2008 NXE update like a week earlier through some major nelson special offer.

Yes, I did get the NXE a week or so early. I just got off the phone with support (spent an hour and a half this time) and they tried what they could and told me i had to reformat or buy a new hard drive. My dashboard version in system settings says I have the update installed, and i think that is why the download is failing. I think Live is telling my system to update, and when I try, my Xbox tells Live that it already has it, and so the download fails. I can't tell you how angry I am that I actually pay money for this aggravation.

I think the only thing we can do is wait for a new firmware update. Also i think we are not the only ones that have this problem, so i am thinking MS took this update offline, so that is why everybody does have access to the update. Man i hope they fix this as soon as possible.

It is probably related to the loss of sound on several HDMI-equipped LCD monitors.

Unfortunately, I can't access Live, so I'm gonna have to wait until the next time my 360 decides it wants to get online to update xP.

I never downloaded an update but it told me some of the services were offline (both marketplaces were gone from my dash) but I could connect to LIVE and play games.

I was only watching a movie but decided to try through the guide to get to Netflix and it worked but by that time everything seemed to come back on the dashboard.

That's the only thing I've experienced.

Hopefully it fixed netflix crashing peoples 360s. It does mine so bad I have to unplug it to get it to shut off. Or maybe it fixed sonic the hedgehog telling me to unlock the full version although I already have.

Legendary:

Try redownloading the full version from marketplace. If you already paid for it you should be able to download it again for free. The same thing happened to me once and I had to re-download all my arcade games.

Last night I turned on my 360 for the first time since this update. I think I know one of the problems it addressed; something most of you wouldn't have had a problem with in the first place and therefore not notice.

On my super-fast university residential connection everything goes through a webcache and there's a nasty Strict NAT. Xbox 360 apparantly only uses two ports so it does work, unlike almost anything on a PS3.

However, when NXE hit only core features such as my Friends list remaining working. It was as if the Marketplace server was inaccessible because the related vertically navigated menu sections totally dissapeared. Image assets for games being played also failed to show and I couldn't access new avatar clothing.

So imagine my joy last night when everything popped up just as it should do. I believed they twiddled some network settings to restore dashboard functionality for people forced to go through some proxies. :D

Well it is a little late, but it seems to deal with the dlc regarding Fable 2. There was a glitch in the system, allowing players to download the free dlc (then cancel) and then download the premium dlc free of charge. This error was quickly fixed (within 12 hours or so), but still slower than microsoft would of hoped.

I do not know what happened to people who did download the content, but i know there are several people who did not pay for the knothole island expansion.

This is strictly hypothetical, but my system queued up a update as soon as i tryed to download the Fable 2 DLC.

I just call it as it is.

Odd.. I just go the update (a week late? I play for hours daily). Then when I tried to join a friends party, I had to update AGAIN!

Strange...

Looking at my dash info, it still says d:2.0.7357.0 and kernel 2.0.7357.0

what the hell is going on?

Get this. Console wont stop freezing after applying the update, then it makes me reapply it. This is tres strange and quite annoying. If only there was a face to smash.
