Some really interesting videos for The Conduit have popped up over at IGN. Above, we have a developer commentary video, which talks about everything from enemy AI to the adaptive music system used in the game. As if that weren't enough, the other video, available past the break, shows how far the game has come in development. Amazing to see the game's roots and where it stands now as one of the prettiest titles we've ever laid eyes on. Head past the break and check it out.

Holy crap! This game looks like it'll be the pinnacle of FPS games on any console. Basically everything is customizable, and they even got community involvement for the 3 default controls in the game?! All I have to say is... WOW. This game never ceases to amaze me.

Optional Matchmaking should be better. I always hated matchmaking.

I am ever so impressed with the amount of time and effort put into this title. I mean, wow. It just goes to show that when it comes down to what makes a good game, a great game, it really is care. Care for the product and care for what the consumer wants. Kudos to High Voltage for really "getting it" in terms of making a game for the Wii.

i was one of the people that were very skeptical about the conduit's graphics from the screenshots (the main reason why i liked this game was for the on/offline gameplay and customization), but when i saw this demonstration in motion, all the jaggies and polys were unnoticable.
high voltage really stepped it up since their pre-beta videos that were shown here a long time ago.

This show how much effort is put on this game, everything is customizable, even the dead zone, wich usually annoys me when I'm moving the control in metroid prime. The customizable HUD is a neat addition too. And the computer AI seems kind of smart now! And I like the scenery, it reminds me of golden eye.
It's going to be so awesome when this game comes out.

didn't they talk about making every effort to not include those codes? I think there definitely should be some kind of friend system though.
Anyone know if Wii codes are in or out?

I said it before and I say it again.
If I buy the conduit for no other reason, it is because they treat us gamers with respect. They actually made an effort on a console where people claimed there is no need to.
Kudos, High Voltage, me love you long time.

it seems to me they have focussed so much on graphics that they had to compensate by putting (too) little effort in other things:
stale sound effects, generic environments lacking in atmosphere, simplistic animations and, honostly, the AI doesn't look as great as the developer is saying..
nevertheless, it looks good, fast paced and very entertaining

We should still give it a chance before making hasty decisions though. They've only showed off a small portion of the levels, and they said there will be selectable difficulty for the AI. Maybe it's not cranked up in the video?

You said something negative about The Conduit!?
When it comes to the conduit, we're supposed to be mindless fanboy sheep and praise everything about it, ignoring the fact that we bought a Wii to play something that isn't an FPS ('cept Metroid).

Wow, someone actually gets it. This game looks graphically pretty, but all that is overshadowed by its blandness. It's not a hasty conclusion, the original poster is perfectly correct. Everything about this game screams N64, and the constant corridors I keep seeing remind me of a bad Wolfenstien clone. There will be disappointment, that's for sure.
Maybe Nintendo saw through the veneer of fail, hence why they decided to overlook publishing this title. They've already been burnt by the mediocre Geist back in 2004.

wow it actually improved beyond what was shown before visually.I think that after this point, anyone who still says Metroid looks better has to be absolutely blind to reality.

before i forget, we all bought our wiis to play games, that includes some shooters as well, theres nothing wrong with that.We didnt buy it to play only mario games or only sports games or only shooters. To play anything we like. And by the way, the wii has the best controls for shooters as well, way ahead of ps3 or 360.Behind on visuals, ahead on controls.

High Voltage has really made a HUGE improvement since the beginning.
I decided to buy this a while back, but this is a definite must have right now after looking at that.

I think the majority of Wii owners don't know about the Conduit as of yet, but even though im for sure going to get it, ii have a feeling its not going to sell well like most 3rd part wii games. I do know that the quality of the Conduit is vastly greater than the other 3rd party games.

Im not sure about that, I think a rather huge amount of Wii owners are aware of the Conduit.More than they were aware of Call of Duty world at war, which now is among most popular wii games according to most surveys. There has been a lot more of hype and viral advertisement for much longer than there was for WAW or any 3rd party game for wii.

007 has a customizable HUD.
I don't know what the big deal is. Do you really enjoy pointing at the screen the whole time while playing? When you turn using the hud you cant point at the screen, which means you have to finish turning before you can aim. This makes me crazy.

Just bought a Wii, and well, looks like this will be the first FPS I'll buy for it.
Quick questions:
1. Does it support the Wii zapper?
2. Does it have a control scheme for the Wii zapper?
Thanks. Looking forward to release date.

Every IR game "supports" the Zapper. It's just a piece of plastic.
There are fully customizable controls, so if they dont have a Zapper specific config, you can do your own.

It looks pretty for a Wii game, almost first generation 360. Though thats not as important as the fact that it looks like alot of fun. I am an FPS gamer generally so even if it seems mediocre it will look better for me lol, that and after playing metroid prime 3 I liek the control style of the wii. It is alot more accurate than I would of thought and less waggle. I don't like waggle as much, it gets a little annoying. In NMH it drove me nuts every time I had to charge the damn beam saber lol.
