Nothing I'll be stuck working all these weekend but if I manage to get time for anything I'll be getting the Last achievement in Dead Space.

Some FFIV and then I'll start Prince of Persia.

I'll be at university tomorrow practising for an exam on Wednesday at a friends house.

Since this exam is practical though, I will not be spending hours upon hours by myself revising.

I may get onto Halo 3 on Xbox Live at the revision session (this guy is obsessed with Halo 3 online).

Once I get home I plan to get into playing what I would have played during the Christmas holidays - namely Super Paper Mario, Mario Kart Wii, Okami and Super Mario Galaxy, with maybe using my GAME gift card for some Wii points to indulge some WiiWare.

Griffin, might I suggest some v-drums? I bought a Roland TD-9S set ( http://rolandus.com/products/productdetails.aspx?ObjectId=926&ParentId=60 ) to supplement my Rock Band experience, and they're quite satisfactory. And I haven't been evicted yet.

I'm sure someone with more drum experience than me will be able to give some proper recommendations. Anyone?

V's are great for small practice kis but you're never going to get the feel of a real drum with them not to mention how insanely expensive they are. That being said, the td-9 brain is great but if you're going in that direction and learning to play the td-3 might be a better option cost wise.
Personally, I'd say look for cheap accoustic kit. You'll have the feel of a real drum and also get yourself more accustom to how you need to move around a regular kit. Due to the size and shape of electronics, this is usually negated and can leave you getting used to a kit that can't be replicated with accoustics when you want to switch. Rember though that drums are almost always sold as just shells, you still need to get hardware, cymbals, pedals, throne, sticks, and all that fun stuff.

Ive had MGS4 since launch but i never really played MGO (i went from patch 1.03 to 1.20 yesterday lol). Its not as terrible as i remembered it but still not that fun. Im only playing it because i have no other multiplayer games. Which will hopefully change soon.

You could try Warhawk, which is an awesome online game, or Resistance 2, which has really good online competitive and co-op.

I played the demo for Warhawk. Its ok but i dont think ill eve get it. As for Resistance i was in the beta and i did enjoy the mp and co-op quite a bit. Im just waiting for it to go down in price. Especially since i dont really care for the SP. Though if i find a collectors edition ill swoop that up for the figure.

I love Far Cry 2 with every part of my body, including my pee pee. I will be playing the living shit out of it all weekend.

Justin and Ludwig - I seriously, truly thank you two for pumping this game up as much as you did. I would have skipped it if it weren't for the two of you, and that would have been a mistake.

I too have fallen in love with Far Cry 2 thanks to Ludwig and Justin. Though there are a few things that bug me about the game, the overall good outweighs the bad. It is the best guerilla warfare I've ever experience in a game.

Also, you face seems less jerky with the new avatar.

Yeah, the infinitely spawning guard posts are maddening, obviously. If the guards would just take even a single day to respawn it would be a total game changer! I love passing a post, going to a cell tower to get a job, and having to kill all the guards again LITERALLY 85 seconds later! : )

But overall it is a really good game, once you get past that one (admittedly awful) snag.

And I'm glad my face seems less jerky this time around, heh.

I'm sad to say I agree with Haggard. I was really looking forward to the game, and I tried really hard to like it, but it just wasn't that fun to me. It's just not for me, there are just some things that are off, the aiming, the pace, the way characters interact, stuff like that. I can understand why people like it, and I wish I did but I just dont

Briefly considered picking up the Knothole Island DLC since I've solved Fable II's main quest, but decided against it - I can't justify it behind not putting any real time into Fallout 3 or Far Cry 2.

Besides, I'm still working on Prince of Persia, and I may be able to solve through that one by weekend's end. At least, that's my hope.

Welcome back, but I'd be lying if I said I knew you were gone. After about a month-break from the internet (working for Christmas $ and trying to find a new job after season), I must really say that I missed you guys. It's good to be home.

As for what I'm playing, nothing really until I purchase a new 360 so I can FINALLY play the holiday games I missed (read: all of them except L4D...).

I got Saints Row 2 after I beat Fable II, and still have to finish GoW2 whenever my buddy in TX has time to finish the campaign co-op with me. Then I got Fallout 3 last month...

...and I just keep going back and playing Fable II all the time. So, Fable II?

Tales of Vesperia that I have out from Gamefly, that I really should play. I thought this gamefly thing would be a great deal for me but I only get like one game every 2 months anyways, because I get distracted by other games. Hmm.

Probably more Banjo-Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, and Chrono Trigger.

Sidenote: Is it just me that thinks the Knothole Island DLC for Fable 2 is a complete and utter waste of money?

Three copy/paste quests and a bunch of items that undo what you did pre-KI, completed it in about an hour. Didn't get the three KI achievements but by that point I felt sick that I had wasted my money on this.

It depends. If the privileged Arabs, Whites and Pakistanis don't go out marching again then I won't have to go out in the van, carrying out that equipment, for one minute of angry anti-colonial babble; I may have time to check out Afterburner/Rambo/GG/DDR at the Arcade.

But the mood has been dark for awhile now, most often it feels like something is about to kick off. So I might not even bother. If that is the case, then I'll stick to Virtua Tennis 3 on the PSP and Space Invaders Extreme DS.

More of the World Ends With You, Lost Odyssey and probably Left 4 Dead. I was missing out because TWEWY is awesome. Lost Odyssey, however, is good, but the frequent loading is killing the experience for me. It's almost painful to play it for long stretches. But no worries, I'll get through it.

I've just recently got my hands on a copy of Resistance 2. I'd been putting off playing it, because I'd heard some bad things about it, and instead had tried out Prince of Persia and Dead Space (both of which dissapointed me).

I was really suprised when I played R2, though. It's a much better game than I'd thought it'd be. In fact, it's awesome. The Single Player is loads of fun, and the Competitive online is fast paced and frantic. The Co-op looks to be very good too (only tried it 2 player split screen so far, need to give 8 player online a go).

I know I'm probably gonna get flamed for this, but in my opinion, it might even be slightly better than Gears 2. 0_0

You're not the only one with that opinion - Resistance is just plain more fun to play online, IMO. Has more content, too, and I have yet to run into any bugs or problems.

IGN shares this opinion, too.

I'm not about to compare it to Gears 2, but R2 really is a great game. In fact, just reading that makes me want to go play it, and away I go.

"Well duh, his avatar is Ratchet."

Yes, yes, I noticed this probably negates anything I say about any game made by Insomniac. But hey, I like Naughty Dog too and absolutely hated Jak 2, so there's that.
