I loved Frequency, but I never played Amplitude because the soundtrack looked awful. But a PSN revival might be the sort of thing that would sell me a PS3 (besides dropping the price to $299...)

Hey that'd kick some ass for sure. Imagine if they could swing it so that the new game used Rockband DLC!

Oops...that wasn't intended to be a reply to that comment. Anyway, Amplitude is similar to Guitar Hero, but it didn't have a stupid plastic instrument to go along with it, thus limiting its appeal amongst the mainstream.

that looks like it'll be great in glorious 1080p. 720p is more likely but i'm fine with that too.

This would be amazing. I loved both of those games (though Frequency had the better soundtrack).

I loved Frequency and Amplitude. Now, if they can bring that gameplay with the functionality of Audiosurf, that would be awesome. Especially with streaming music from your pc instead of just the tracks they choose. It is a shame that Sony owns the rights, this should be available to everyone.

Amplitude was chill. However, I'd rather see another Rez

I own both Amplitude and Frequency, the precursors to Guitar Hero and Rock Band; they are fantastic, I would buy this sequel! If you like music games, you have to check out both Amplitude and Frequency.

I still have my PS2 hooked up primarily for Amplitude. I sure wish the online wasn't discontinued because it sure was fun.

Amplitude was awesome! I've been waiting on a sequel to this franchise for a long time. Every since Guitar Hero it's kind of fizzled out.

Such a shame that Harmonix is going to be stuck working on the Rock Band series forever under MTV... I don't think there would be any way for Harmonix to have approval to work on a Amplitude sequel when another Rock Band game, complete with peripherals, is bound to be much more profitable.

I LOVE amplitude and frequency. both were excellent games, and the reason I love Harmonix. I really liked the circular nature of the track system in frequency, and was sad they did away with it in amplitude. That said, amplitude was overall a better game, especially multiplayer! I never played online, but would frequently have large groups of friends over and the powerups made it so hecticly awesome!
"Purple player takes the lead!"
"Green player takes the lead!"
Music to my ears. And I really liked much of the music in the games. To this day "cherry lips" makes my fingers twitch. And I tracked down Symbion project and bought some of their music. I particularly loved the final song - Synthesized.
I still have amplitude, but rarely play it because sadly it skips slightly (every minute or two) on my PS3 (60GB with full hardware BC).
A sequel would be mad-wicked cool and a must buy for me!

This would be a system seller for me, no joke. I find amplitude to be superior to rock band and guitar hero in almost every way.

I've been on the fence about buying a PS3, since 98% of the games I want to play are also on 360, which I already have. But this game would push me over the edge and make me buy a PS3.

Make it happen Sony!

I played Frequency and Amplitude. I loved those games, they were a shit load of fun. The beats were awsome and playing Amp online was fun as hell. I liked the custom tracks the most on amp. Snesmeltdown was one of my favorites. There was a guy that did a lot of mixes but I cant remeber his name. His were dope too.

Amplitude was cool. Don't know how a sequel would fare though. People (including me) love their fake instruments. That being said, maybe they could get Nintendo, LucasArts, and Konami to license the Arwing, X-wing, and Vic Viper to the game as selectable ships. A little cross promotion never hurt anyone :-P

Amplitude remains one of my top 5 favorite games of all time. I'd love a sequel, but I dunno how well the R1-R2-L1 combo would work with R2. The R2 on the PS3 having more of a trigger quality than a button quality could be detrimental - and don't even THINK about Circle-Triangle-Square.

Sorry to the Guitar Hero & ROCK BAND lovers....but as a follower of HARMONIX from the beginning.....

Well....FREQUENCY & AMPLITUDE are better games.

I think I played FREQUENCY when I bought it as a lark for almost an entire day straight til my eyes bled.

And as gamer born and bred since the ATARI 2600......that means alot.
