I honestly think that MS is gonna make live free now. I mean, why else would buy and amazon make it 30 bucks? Unless its.............competitivness *shocker* (sorry for the bad spelling

I have been thinking something along these lines too, but that they will lower the price of it. Something is going on here because its many many stores selling them this cheap.

Yeah I won't be surprised if they make it go free...Major Nelson is even promoting it. That tells me they are urging a lot of people to get them now before they drop the bomb and make it free. They're hooking me with this one...the deal is too good to pass up.

I ordered 2 yesterday from Buy.com but got a notice today saying they won't ship to unverified addresses with Paypal...oh well...I save on shipping I guess...bought 2 from Amazon instead...free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime (which has definitely paid for itself since I started it).

If MS does make LIVE free, they will probably compensate people that still have outstanding months of LIVE purchased, probably in the form of MS Points I suppose. They sure as hell better, as I just bought 2 of those LIVE cards. If they leave us high and dry I'm never buying another piece of MS hardware, and I love my 360.

I'm guessing, if Live ever did go free, MS would give you points per month. One month= 100 points, it wouldn't be full price, but 26,000 points would be pretty sick.

I'm glad so many places had sales on it now, now all these scalpers aren't going to get shit for them on eBay. Too bad losers, time to get a life and a real job.

Yeah, i bought four of them, i will be reselling a few of them, but most likely i will just keep 1 for myself and 1 for my buddy and sell it at cost. The other two if i make it back wit some extra all cool but wit all these deals im not even gonna get my money back. Oh well.

Does anyone know if Best Buy will match Amazon. I would rather use my gift card there than spend real money?

I'll wait til I need one. A well informed consumer can find them from 28 to 35 all year round.

I've never had gold outside of the 1 month free trial... At this price I figure it's worth the try. Who knows maybe I'll find some decent people online :)

Yeah hunter, go for it!! Even though Live is full of morons, there's quite a few decent people on it too. It just requires digging REEEEEEEAAAAALLL deep to find them.

Anyways, I'm not sure what to think of these deals all popping up within days of each other. MS is going to do something to Live soon, I can feel it in me bones.

I just picked up another one. The last one I got was from buy.com for $38 a couple months ago. So I'm already good through December of this year, I figured I might as well stack another on there and keep my live account paid for until the beginning of 2011.

$30, with no tax and free shipping is as good as it gets.

Just picked mine up... thanks for the heads up! I've seen this deal at Amazon one before but I wasn't on gold then.
Why would MS stop charging if people are still willing to pay? It's pretty cheap and it seems like they would just expand silver to allow some gaming (arcade titles)... I think they started this already, right?

just put this code in using the xbox dashboard guide button (scroll to the left and select redeem code).

after putting this code in, it will automatically push back the date for your auto-renewal 13 months.

No i don't think MS will make live free.. come on is MS... but i do think that they lowering the price to get more ppl on gold so they can enjoy the NXE like netflix, buy movies mucic game etc.. as you know they have a great success on the market place.. so they think they have 20 million console sold and only about 12 million live? why not get more ppl in so they can buy more from market place.. you know everyone is going to buy something someday lol.. but the deal is great. good for us the resallers lol..

Two comments.

I think these pre-paid cards are a drain on the resources of the stores that bought them from Microsoft, and now they are dumping them to recoup cash. The cards that are activated at checkout were not marked down at WalMart since (I guess) there's no real investment in them. I think the pre-paid cards will die off in favor of the activated ones, but maybe just at WalMart.

Xbox LIVE won't accept more than 3 years worth of paid membership at once. I only found that out when trying to add my 3 freshly purchased cards and only one would work. Apparently I'll have to wait till like July to add the second card (hopefully the failure to credit the account this time didn't waste the card!!!) to completely fill that 3-years, then wait another whole 13 months before the last card...
