Sad news on the Xbox community front. Our Microsoft friends over at the Gamerscore Blog recently revealed that their blog will be no more and is officially retired. Microsoft has made the decision to end the GSB in an effort to focus on "community outreach through Xbox.com and through the Xbox dashboard." From what we understand, the GSB crew will be helping create content for Inside Xbox and other projects.
On behalf of Xbox 360 Fanboy, we want to express our sincere gratitude to the entire Gamerscore Blog team. We recognize all the hard work they've done over the years to keep gamers informed and we appreciate all their Xbox community building efforts. They'll be missed and we hope to see their familiar faces and personalities in their upcoming projects. Here's to you GSB (raises glass of ginger ale), you'll be missed.
Also, if you're up for it, we think it'd be appropriate to visit the GSB one last time to post a comment telling the team how much their contribution to the Xbox community was appreciated.

I'd like to think of MS getting "Fight Ready". Not that they need to, just staying lean for battle.
And a note to Xbox 360 fanboy.com. I never get tired of good LoL cats. Man, if 360 Fanboy went down, I'd freakin' go Ape Sh*T mad!

It's so cool to blame everything on the Economy these days.
Alex, dicknjane..you guys are so cool. Microsoft, that big software giant can't afford to keep a website running in this horrible economic crisis.
Watch out they'll be cutting back on toilet paper next.

If you think Major Nelson's "marketplace blog" serves its purpose for content, you guys are sadly missing out on what Gamerscoreblog provided. It is a sad shame that the marketing/PR teams want to pump more ego into Major Nelson and advertise for him instead of human voices who are passionate about games and delivering great content to the consumer.

MajorNelson blog is not ran by MS but by him. They don't have control over HIS blog.

Chris Paladino was the best blogger around! He made the show! His keen insights and humor kept it real! He will be sorely missed. What is Microsoft thinking??????????????????
A Big Fan of the Blog!

@ kentawilson - it is HIS blog, but if you not the PR spin on Gamerscore Blog, they are pointing you to Major Nelson so they are saying it is "official".

"If you’re on the PC and enjoy the informal voice of blogs, you should check out Xbox.com Voices, and Majornelson.com. "
Quoted from the PR post. MS is pointing to him along with xbox.com and anything you see on his post doesn't have any personality, but marketplace shill written all over it. It is not community driven or have any depth.

All due respect, I hope you are wrong. I really do. I personally think Major Nelson is great. His paycheck does come from MS, so sure he's a bit full of PR. He's corny, but cool. I like his videos on Xbox too. He's one of the only Faces to Xbox box. I would bet my life he didn't earn many of his Gamerscore himself, but that doesn't matter. Trixie first before Nelson... lets get real. (I like Trixie too though)

Hey man, Xbox 360 Sucks!!!!! You either burn it out or you get pissed and throw it against the freaking wall. Then you have to go to some geek to have it fixed. And they charge you 50 to100 bucks to fix it. Thats a double bummer Dude. I found this dude that has this repair giude and video. So you can fix it youself. you can even get so good that you can learn to fix them and charge 50 to 100 bucks. This is not a sell job dude. I just wanted my buds how get as pissed as I do. my mans website is http://bobby153.chr5123.hop.clickbank.net. Play on dude!!! Bobby

Not a huge loss. They did a tour that was really cool a while back. I got a couple games for free from that. Otherwise, it was just a press release blog.
