Wait, if the second bass pedal is controlled with the second foot, won't that be a bit strange? Double bass pedals are controlled with one foot. The other foot controls the high hat pedal, no?

No, the second bass pedal is controlled by your left foot, and you switch between it and the hi-hat pedal as needed. You're probably thinking of the fact you can get double bass pedals for use with one bass drum; you still need both both feet to use both pedals.

Real drummers do it with one pedal.

If you can get the same speed on one pedal as someone doing heel-toe with two, be my guest.

LOL, this is going to be hilarious. The same thing is going to happen again as when a bunch of hardcore Rock Band drummers decided to get splitters and plug in two bass pedals. It's actually pretty damn hard to play double bass with two feet; you've got to train yourself to alternate when there are a lot of kick notes. Which also means four-way independence. Unless it's some kind of blast-beat where you actually HAVE to use two feet because it would be physically impossible, it's probably easier for most novices to use a quick-hitting technique where you slide your foot forward, with only one pedal. So a lot of people found that actually, two pedals makes things harder, not easier.

Or for long strings of really rapid kick beats, get a real damn pedal. The GHWT pedal (and the regular Rock Band pedals) are not sensitive enough, they have giant springs instead of real gear-driven pedal mechanics, to tap really rapidly with your foot; you end up having to "bounce" with them.

Plus, on Rock Band there was a technical issue where if you plugged in a second pedal, it was feeding right into the same line as the first pedal, and it wouldn't recognize the second hit unless the reed switch from the first pedal opened again -- in other words you had to lift your foot from the first pedal to play the second pedal! This sucks for quick hits, maybe it's fine for rapidly alternating, but not for anything complex.

The same won't happen with the GHWT pedal, the Rock Band pedal is a switch, but the GHWT pedal is a button that registers a hit every time it's pressed. Still, you could get around the RB kit's problems with a fairly simple circuit board.

You should always have 4 way independence when playing whether you're playing with two kick pedals or one. I will agree that two pedals are a lot harder than one to play with as you have to get used a different independence than with a single pedal.

I'm also curious as to how fast a RB or GH pedal can register. As a drummer that has never really played either I wonder how fast you can go before the game stops being able to register it. I personally run up to 32nd notes on a single pedal (I don't care for double) and I wonder how well those kind of hits work with the game. I know that you eventually hit a point where it's a combination of the action of the pedal and the rebound of your skin so having no skin to account for what's the max you could take either pedal to?

Although everyone is thinking that it's only Metallica, from what I've read they have over 20 guest acts. For those who don't understand, there are other band's music on the game. I agree if it was only Metallica it would be only OK but I think their taste in music and additional music will be very good. I wish there was a way to get a complete list of tracks on Metallica's GH. IN Fact the track list is as follows: Metallica songs:
“All Nightmare Long”
“Battery”
“Creeping Death”
“Disposable Heroes”
“Dyers Eve”
“Enter Sandman”

“Seek And Destroy”
“The Memory Remains”
“The Shortest Straw”
“The Thing That Should Not Be”
“The Unforgiven”
