Dragonball: Evolution coming to PSP in April

We salute you, PSP. Much like a brave (or fatally clumsy) soldier collapsing on a grenade before shrapnel pierces the entire squad's fleshy bits, Sony's portable platform has kept the latest licensed game all to itself. Based on the upcoming Dragonball: Evolution, which critics are optimistically calling "a film," this online-capable fighter comes to us courtesy of Namco Bandai.

Featuring all the characters that fans will insist were ruined by the movie, Dragonball: Evolution promises explosive punches, unreasonably high kicks and Chow Yun Fat in surprisingly casual garb. Look for the manga-to-movie-to-game transition in stores this April.

Yes, this is the only game coming to PSP. This is it. Loco Roco 2, Resistance, and Patapon 2 have all been cancelled. Star Ocean 2 didn't come out this week. Monster Hunter 2 Unite (I consider the franchise rubbish but some like it) and Phantasy Star Portable have both been cancelled for US release. In fact, everything else in dev has been denied the go ahead by SCEA because Sony wants this to stand as the consoles last glorious huzzah...

I just went after the first console warrior I saw. I don't know, blaming a shit game on Sony is like blaming Nintendo for Carnival Games. As for whether or not the PSP has been "lighting up," well, depends on your perspective. Another good RPG hit PSP this week but I've been too buried in the recent DJ Max Portable releases to care.

In essence, on ANY console, if you're not finding something to play, you're not looking.

Console Warrior? Dude, I OWN a PSP-1000 - you're saying more about yourself than me. I just find it much more useful for homebrew/media with good non-ports few and far between. Like I said, sorry, apparently I touched a very raw, very defensive nerve of yours.

And yeah, I will be all over LocoRoco 2.

My complete lack of interest in Dragonall and movie licensed games seem to have a canceling effect. I can't wait to see this game come out...no wait a minute that was just indigestion.

The name of the movie is "Dragonball: Evolution." It's implied that Goku evolved into a white guy.

But if Goku evolves wings before Vegeta, you know he'll totally rip them off and cast Goku into a bottomless pit into the next world.

In their attempt to make it more mainstream to the American public they changed the story which was not all that good to this horrendous abomination.

Hell if it had the "low budget" appearance Uwe Boll gives to all his movies presto you’ll have Uwe Boll's Dragonball:Evolution.

I mean the actors are already friggin bad (The guy that interprets Goku probably receives threats to his family and friends in the mail everyday).

The movie has no relation whatsoever to the series except for the name.

The effects totally blow (The whole movie could have been produced in the same room with a blue screen)

And the fact they actually call it Evolution to make it sound superior to the series as some sick punch line is probably the best part.

I mean how hard was to produce another animation movie but just in HD for crying out loud. Compared to this the original Dragonball movie with actors deserves an Oscar.

Seriously, they need to bring out the digitized characters for this one.

SO im am gunna guess that this is going to be the same as the other ("REAL!!!") dragonballz games,so im guessing the only thing this game offers is:
1. reduced cast
2. worse looking characters (trying to make realistic ppl instead of drawings)
3.UTTER AND UNYIELDING DUEL DISSAPPOINTMENT in the movie and the game at the same time.

DragonBall: Origins on the NDS

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm totally excited for the movie. Yes, it will be nothing like the manga or anime, but did you really expect it would? If it tried to be like the anime, they'd only have room in the movie for one or two fights, each consisting of lots of smack talk and staring down. And it'd also have to start at the beginning of the entire series unless the writers decided: "You know what? Screw everybody else! Let's make a movie for the fans who won't see this anyway because Harry Potter's eyes are a different color than in the book and Hermione's hair isn't as bushy!" Otherwise, they'd have to have tons more exposition than they probably already will.

I'm a fan of the series, I loved Budokai 3, and I purchased Sagas at FULL PRICE (A move I now regret, mind you), and even I think this game is gonna suck...

I will like to see the psp game in action before writing it off. fighting games are some of the best portable ones.

As for the movie. Does not look like anything great as in it won't be what transformers was but it looks entertaining and fun to watch.
