The Final Fantasy XIII demo is hitting Japan on April 16 packaged with the Blu-ray Final Fantasy flick, Advent Children Complete. According to Famitsu, Sony will commemorate the release with a new 160GB PlayStation 3 bundle for ¥49,980 (US$550) that includes the movie, demo and specially marked console seen above.
Already got a PS3? ACC is also coming sans hardware for ¥5,900 (US$65) with the demo and ¥4,900 (US$54) without ... but let's be honest, is there really a market for people who want the movie but don't want to play and / or eBay the FFXIII trial? Square Enix recently said that there are no plans to release the demo overseas, so if you've been pining for a taste of the long-awaited RPG, we suggest you brush up on your Japanese.

I think I hear the sound of the 360 being kicked while it's down. Somebody put that poor thing in a cabinet, for pity's sake.

What he's saying is that this will push PS3 sales in Japan to the point that the 360 will become irrelevant there. Until FFXIII comes out on the 360, that is.

^^Do you really think 360 Sales will pick up when FF13 comes out there??? I thought they said in Japan it would be Timed Exclusive to the PS3......and would release on 360 when the rest of the world got it......

$ 55 for the movie advent children complete??
$ 65 for the movie w/ demo ??
what the hell am I missing here or are they overcharging just a bit??
heck the dvd advent children is about $ 20, the UMD version is about the same..
and $ 10 for a demo thats a new record.
well at least square understands that they have no market for this kind of thing on the 360.
only a sony fanboy would buy this..
there i said it.
anybody who pays $ 55 for a 1.5 hour movie is a crazy sony fanboy. or should i say a ff fanboy.
whats next ff7 remake for $ 120 on PSN?
$ 65 for the movie w/ demo ??

and any ff/sony fan that had any interest of these events surrounding ff7 would have already purchased the advent children dvd and maybe the UMD version also.
so they are going to be selling this to people who already own the dvd due to some extra scenes and demo.
if you are not a final fantasy addict you probably will not care or think about this product...
if you are, then you already own it.

You make the most ridiculous assumptions. There's no market on the 360? Are you kidding? You think FF fans who own 360 are any less enthusiastic? The two reasons you don't see something like this for the 360 is, one, the 360 port is likely not even close to being far enough long to have a demo and, two, it doesn't support BR anyway. The re-release of the movie on BR gives Square an "event" to which to tie the demo release.

vid- advent children has nothing to do with ff13.
anybody who cares about ff7 or advent children already owns the movie now...
do u think any 360 owner would purchase a $ 55 movie ??
i cant think of any..
but i already know they will sell some of these on the ps3.
any ff fan already owns a ps2 and probably a ps3. ff fans will play ff13 on a ps3.
u realize the port will be on multiple discs and probably contain the same amount of game data as the ps3 version, minus the lossless 7.1 master hd audio ??
$ 55 movie ?? yeah thats cause they love the fans...
have fun with the "event" lol...
and a $ 65 demo... lol that is crazy IMO.
like i said only a ps3 fanboy will pay for that.
end of story.
twist it any way you want to but its crazy....

vid blu ray has not been a determining factor for games this gen at all...
many 360 games have been put on multiple discs and came out OK.
heck I think ms has made more games past 9gb this gen than sony has themselves.
remember 1 of the most popular playstation games of all time and requested remake was on multiple discs, final fantasy 7.
