In what seems to be one of the most generous packages of the new year, GameStop has listed a new, two-disc Mass Effect re-release due next month that includes the game, a documentary, trailers, music, design galleries and the Bring Down the Sky DLC, all for $19.99. We've contacted BioWare asking for more details, specifically if a deal this delectable is actually allowed to exist.
You know, Mass Effect may not have been the perfect sci-fi opus we were hoping for, but for $20, you'd have to have the heart of a Geth to be able to pass this up. ... And yes, that gag was brought to you by Wikipedia.

The game had a stalker(gay?) in it... I would constantly go back to the guy see what he had to say. Finally it got to where i had to tell him off(pulled my gun out on him, to snap him back to "reality").
I kept wondering, who is he working for? The anti-human council? Was he gay, or just a huge admirer?

Now I can't decide between getting the Steam version or this version. Damn it...

Since you do not really aim in this game (there are accuracy to hit rolls and target auto-lock, so its purely stat-based combat in real time), I can recommend the X360 version. The PC title apparently has some added inventory UI improvements, which might be nice, but with free added bonus crap, I'd go for X360.

The bonus crap is free on teh PC too.
I played the PC version, was fine.
Inventory interface was so crappy, I heard the 360 one was worse, but I don't think that's possible.
It was buggy at the end tho, sometimes my gun would overheat and not cool down until I reloaded a save or did a cutscene.

What do you mean? The "Bonus Crap" I'm interested in that would sway me from the PC version is the extra disc with "a documentary, trailers, music, design galleries." There isn't any mention of a boxed PC version (which might be tainted with secuRom anyway), and surely that crap won't be bundled with the Steam download. This is more than just the "Bring down the Sky" DLC, which yes, is free on PC.

Nuts, I just bought the original version this month as it was on sale...wouldn't have minded a free DLC and extra content...

Not entirely sure how you can compare a third person role playing game with a first person shooter you've never actually played, but ... okay. ^_^

As someone who has no interest in Mass Effect at all.
I would happily pick this game up for $20 and give it a spin.

Damn, I JUST bought this game (though only for $11).
I am only 1 hour into the game and I can easily say it's a masterpiece.

I bought it for full price when it came out, played through it 3 times and absolutely love it. I may just pick up this package too, for this is quite fancy.
I understand a lot of people couldn't get over the hiccups. To those who have yet to play it, if you get over the texture popping, the long elevator load times, inventory system, the lack of autosaves (so you need to save yourself) and the vehicle driving.. you will have an awesome experience. For the rest of it is done very well.

This was the game that weened me from the Final Fantasy/Dragon's Quest teet, making me realize that gameplay and storyline weren't correlated negatively. I have to say it's the most satisfying RPG experience I've been privy to. $20! I'll take 2.

this is 1 of the best games of 2007 if not one of the best games this gen so far.
cant wait for mass effect 2 and I hope it does not go the ps3. just another reason why a gamer should own a 360...
damn thats a lot of stuff for $ 20.
considering the soundtrack is $ 10, DLC is $ 5, game is $ 20 on its own, + the extra disc...

MGS4 would not have been as good if made for 2 platforms.
i dunno.
you end up expending some of your resources and time into the other version instead of optimizing 1 version.

for fanboy and sales reasons its great ff13 is coming to the 360, but in reality it will probably have a negative effect on the overall quality of the game on either version.

My fav game of 2008, recently picked it up again and played through it in order to prepare a character for ME2 with the decisions I wanted to continue with. Only to get hooked in that Im playing it through a 4th time.
One game where the ending doesn't disappoint.
