DBZ + Live Action = EPIC FAIL

If they used Asian actors then maybe it could have been less of a fail, but white Goku is not cool. Not cool at all...

@josh:

In the original, Chichi WAS a fighter, and Bulma DID wield guns.

Still, they did change a lot of the original concept, to make the film nearly unrecognizable, which most fans believe to be not in a good way. Based on the trailers that I've seen, I tend to agree.

Even though Bulma did wield guns, she was clearly not a fighter. So, based purely on the original story, it wouldn't make sense to put her in a fighting game with the rest to the Dragonball characters.

Aaaand I'm assuming you're American, right??? That, or some ignorant, ethnocentric Westerner. But my point is that...you can't spell worth sh*t.

/rant

On topic: This movie=epic fail. Besides, a live-action Dragonball has already been made...and honestly, it kind of sucked, but had a better storyline/cast than Hollywood's take.

Ah yes, Josh, you're right. And since you're right and you're not asian, then that must make you an EXCELLENT actor. Come on, then. Show us your skills.

wow so much hate and no ones even seen the movie or game, well i for one am looking forward to the experience of both and i hope they'll be good, and the rest of you should remember don't judge something until you've experienced it for yourself, otherwise you'll miss out on the best parts of life, for example, if you had never tried to walk yourself you'd have never found out how fun it is to run while playing tag or to climb a tree. so remember give it a chance before you condemn it, because you never know it might be the best movie/game the world has ever seen

True but we know for a fact that this certainly wont be it.

Also it's not that we don't want to try something new but that we identify Dragon Ball by the characters that we've seen and these aren't even close to what was, so in mind this isn't Dragon Ball at all

It's so awful me and most fans waited since kids for a live action dbz, and now when the time seemed right.

After the fight with neo and ag.smith proved we had the special effects for it, and the myriad of comics based movies proved they're worth money when done right.

They f**k it all up, they change goku into a emo kid, and remove krillin so we have no hope of sequels and any resemblance to the original story..
Worst of all we'll have to wait almost a decade before someone can touch the title again and do it right.

It kind of reminds me of batman, where krillin is police commissioner james gordon..

That the characters look like their movie counterparts but the backgrounds definitely don't not remind me of the anime is a little off-putting. But hey, like with the movie, I just might be willing to give it a look, horrible expectations and all. Who knows? Maybe they'll actually give us a reason to want to play it, like fine-tuning the Shin Budokai engine or something.

What's worse than no PSP games at all? Crappy shovelware based on even crappier movies.
Perhaps, if we ask really nicely, we'll get a Streetfighter: Legend of Chun-Li movie tie-in game too?!?!

This will be just as awesome as the "Street Fighter: The Movie" video game.

And by awesome, I mean, of course, fail.

Besides the character models being based on actors... I don't see how this game can turn out bad... it seems to have the same gameplay as Burst Limit or previous DBZ games... its just weird to look at...

Never thought I'd see the day where Joon Parks in a video game...

Here's what they should have done:

Taken the budget projected for the movie (while knowing that poor casting and a retarded script was a complete stupid and epic failure to begin with) and bought everybody a copy of Great Saiyaman helmet

:D

Oh, and complimentary and a Master Roshi walking-stick/back-scratcher.

No no no. This is just a bad dream, a very bad dream. There is no Dragon Ball : Evolution movie and tie-in game because I'm just dreaming this. I'm going to wake up any moment now, put this all behind me and have a nice bowl of Coco Puffs. This will be no different than all the bad dreams I had of Willem Defoe.

so now after reading all the comments listed above this one, my only question is this....

Taking away the "Dragon Ball" from the title of not only the game but also the movie, and removing any connection to anything that might potentially have to do with Dragon Ball, could this possibly be at least a playable game and watchable movie?

Just remember I mentioned to take away any connection to Dragon Ball, meaning name and characters and all (which they did save for keeping the name)

yes considering both the movie and the game without taking to account the dragonball name
the movie might be a decent dvd rental for a boring afternoon and the game probably won't be worth even a rental since it's the same engine with different models
and at least the other 2 are based on dragon ball =)

Well in the original Dragonball Chi Chi was a Fighter Goku WASNT ASIAN (he was an alien... not all asians are aliens seriously stupid people) and to whoever said Piccolo was brown in this movie *Look up a better quality video* he is green the only thing wrong is no antennaie but in dragonball he can make them not visible anyway which he does when they learn to drive in DBZ

to everyone who complains about Goku not being asian...

NOT ONLY is he an alien, but NOBODY in dragonball is designed to look asian (excluding Korin, who's a cat, and Yajirobe), Toriyama designs most of his characters to look white, as most asian cartoons and game development is based on traditional western cinema.

Just because it's FROM Japan doesn't mean it's supposed to BE japan. even the Farmer with the Shotgun who tries to shoot radditz is driving a chevrolet, you think they drive chevy's in Japan!?

And this is what Namco Bandai has been doing all along!? >_>

This is a blatant resource waste; they should had focused them on bringing over MORE Tales, Summon Night, and Super Robot Wars Original Generation instead of this.
