Capcom has confirmed to Eurogamer that a demo for Resident Evil 5 is shuffling its way onto the PSN February 2. Astute observers will notice that the release date is a Monday, which is not the PSN's typical Thursday update day. We've contacted both Sony America and Capcom for confirmation of the date for North America.
The Xbox 360 RE5 demo will be available starting January 26. Both consoles will receive the same demo, which is the same as the Japanese demo and features two levels that can be played solo, split-screen or online co-op. Getting in plenty of practice time won't be an issue, as the retail version isn't expected until March 13.

That's what I'm worried about. RE4 was great. but the RE series is turning into an action game, and they are refusing to fix the controls as such. I know they added "shooter" controls, but I remember reading that something in normal Dead Space-like shooter controls was still gimped.

It would be nice if they relase newer version.
There were some problems with the old one.

From what I've seen in the past with the side by side comparisons was that most games had very little difference between consoles, at least not enough to make it worse than the other, in my opinion.
But, goddammit, these are horrible.

Taken from that comparison article:
"Its common knowledge that the Xbox 360 has a sharper output that the Playstation 3."
How is this true at all? 1080p is 1080p, it's the same exact resolution, and can be output through the same cables if you have a 360 with HDMI. If anyone has an explanation or reference link for this, I'd love to read it. Otherwise it sounds like complete garbage.
The comparisons are sometimes interesting, though the heat the generate is just as old and tired as the console wars themselves. Most games have such negligible differences that it doesn't matter.

Aka, the 360 version almost always looks better but lets say it doesn't matter because I don't like the 360.

I haven't tried the 360 demo yet but I'll get the PS3 one if its a newer version.

yikes, shadows and textures do look better on the 360 version.
I think my point is still pretty valid though - you're not going to notice the differences hardly if at all unless you do a comparison like this. Plus, I'm sure it has to do with the fact that they are pretty much identical versions with the slight graphical tweaks to suit the respective video cards. I'm hoping that KZ2 might make devs take a note on how to program on the PS3. I've read that the graphics card on the 360 has a bit of an edge on the PS3's, which is why we see things like better textures and shadows in the 360 version of RE5, or antialiasing in Mirror's Edge. I wonder what would happen if they delegated the processing of the shadows, heat distortion, dust, and smoke to the Cell.
God I hope I didn't just start a war XD

Looks like I did, as Lee comes out with a BS comment while I was typing that one.
What about screen tearing on the 360? I also remember reading the differences between versions of GTA4, which is probably the most different looking multiplatform between systems. The PS3 version was annoyingly chunky, with its less-than720p resolution (same as Halo 3, if I remember correctly), but that it also had graphical features that the 360 didn't, evening the quality overall.

I do like the 360, I just don't want to spend the money on another console just to play a couple games that I can't on my PS3 - it's a waste of money to me. We tested a couple games out back to back on my friend's 1080p 42", who owns a PS3 and 360. Dead Space and Fallout 3 looked identical to us. I walked around getting indoors, outdoors, and water on each version so we could see if anything was noticeably gimped. It was the same. My point was that, if you can notice any differences for the most part, it's going to be on the internet. Put the games back to back like we did, and you just don't notice it.

Nice, that's earlier than we thought.
I already pre-ordered the Collector's Edition from GameStop.com with free overnight/on-day delivery using their StopWatch sale.
Um, I feel like I got a good deal. This game is going to be fun, I think. :)
