I'd rather get Mass Effect 2. IMHO the first game was so deeply flawed in so many ways that I would rather they fix them and release the next game instead of adding more content to such a broken game.

Specifically:

- slooooow. Choppy framerates even in normal situations.
- horrid load times
- boring vehicle sections, landing on every little insignificant rock to look for stuff SUCKS
- inventory menu SUCKS
- so little item customization :(

I think next Mass Effect will be better because it will support many NPC at once if they use the newest unreal engine, as for me there was lack of enemies.

I had to check that price again because I thought you said £20 but $20. That's cheaper than cheap. Hopefully we won't get too ripped off over here.

Maybe not the best venue for asking this but is the PS3 version also going to be released? I would think this would be a good opportunity for Bioware/EA to release it on PS3 so that the next version might be on both platforms.

Well there have been persistent rumors of EA releasing Bioware games as dual versions and releasing Mass Effect 2 without releasing 1 would be a problem since they depend so much on the story. Although Microsoft published it I dont know , if they still retain rights over that IP.

PS3 version hasn't even been confirmed for ME2 and very doubtful on ME1.

In any case if PS3 were to get ME2 -

"Players who have not played the first Mass Effect will start a new character in Mass Effect 2, and will be brought up to speed on the story elements that have taken place thus far in the series."

I hope this remains an exclusive franchise to 360. I don't want any delays while they try to figure out and fine tune a version that runs ok on PS3.

If it's £15 over here I may re-buy the game.

I'm going to guess that the "documentary, design galleries, game trailers, music" on the second disk is the same as the Collector's Edition. If so, then it's a really good way of re-releasing titles.

Game + Collectors Edition Digital Content + DLC should be how every (deserving) game should be re-released.

I got this game over a year ago, bought the DLC, and played it through three times. Then I sold it. At this point, there's no way I'm going to play it again, I don't care what kind of DLC they make available.

I'll be first in line to buy ME2, though!

"That'd be quite the gaming value for $20 and - if legit - we'll be happy to take two copies off Gamestop's hands."

Why two copies?

That reminds me, I need to retrieve my copy from a loan-out to a friend, and finally get around to playing the Bringing Down the Sky stuff.

Mmmm, spaceships...

I never finished the normal version.
I think I got Wrex killed then got bored after the nuclear bomb went off and that woman died.

$20 seemed the going rate for the game around Christmas. Yeah, you'll get the DLC and some of the original LE content now, but like most deals, it's only really worth it for people who still haven't jumped in yet.

To me... this looks like a re-release to start getting people really interested again because perhaps Mass Effect 2 is coming out this next holiday season? If so, oh yes!

Wow, I already have the game but for $20. That's one hell of a price. I might just pick it up.
