You just have to wonder if Sony is hurting themselves by keeping the PS2 around...
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 19th 2009 6:23PM
that PURE profit......not hurting them that much
el serpiente @ Jan 19th 2009 6:29PM
(What does your comment have to do with these 2 games mentioned? It's amazing how dumb ass trolls like you manage to derail every single PS related thread)
And on topic, I would love a PS2 version of pulse, but after the glory of WipeoutHD I'm not sure it would hold up very well. Any word about additional DLC for HD?
Moptimus Slime (Leader of the Ryan Scott Defense Force, A Wurr? My Burr) @ Jan 19th 2009 6:31PM
Not like that, I meant in the "Heres this old console that is still supported giving you no real need to upgrade" way. PS3 targeted the PS2 audience, yet Im sure a lot of people haven't bought one yet because of:
1. Cheaper alternatives (Price)
2. games still being made
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 19th 2009 6:34PM
well if they had the money for a PS3 then they would get one.......
not to mention the PS2 will only be supported for around another 12-15 months......
I mean SURE there are asloads of games out there.......but if you play a lot of sports games I would ASSUME that Madden 2010 would be the last one on PS2.......but who knows......if I remember correctly they had Madden 2008 or 2009 available for 360....
Moptimus Slime (Leader of the Ryan Scott Defense Force, A Wurr? My Burr) @ Jan 19th 2009 6:41PM
yes el serpiente, I did this JUST to troll Sony. Its quite obvious that this article doesn't have anything to do with the PS2, so me bringing it up was just a dick move. And lets face, I just HATE Son cause Im a Nintendo fanboi. I've never owned a Sony console or a Microsoft console or even a SNK console. Nope, if it doesn't say Nintendo on it then it can just GTFO of my house.
Leo McKelvin @ Jan 19th 2009 6:57PM
"Nope, if it doesn't say Nintendo on it then it can just GTFO of my house."
Glad to see you are not in denial about it anymore.
el serpiente @ Jan 19th 2009 7:04PM
Wow, that's a lot of straw men you're pulling out there!
The continuing-to-support-the-ps2 question has been debated to death here these past few weeks. And those are fine in the hardware sales threads. But attention whore seeks attention and has to court another flamewar with his first comment in something unrelated. If you had nothing to say about wipeout pulse, or fat princess, then yeah, you should shut your mouth.
Sheppy (of the Fidlious Clan of Wong) @ Jan 19th 2009 9:02PM
I understand your stance on this Moptimus, keep in mind.
1. PS3 is STILL not affordable for a vast majority of casual gamers. So having a Sony brand console for the home that many can afford is a HUGE boon to Sony right now.
2. Majority of the PS2's market, at this time, is actually tweenage girls and poverty stricken families. Both groups aren't exactly the ones begging for the huge price tags of 360/PS3/Wii.
3. Last year PS2 had 130 games released. Most of those released at sub $20 pricing scale. Sure, they aren't doing million sellers anymore but the PS2 is a viable platform.
4. The longer those who can only afford a PS2 BUY a PS2, that isn't a sale going to Wii or 360.

i hope that fat chick doesnt start crying again ... i mean really.

Man.. just read through all that. The most ridiculous shit I've seen all week. Fat lady gets offended by game about fat lady. Destructoid writer points out she hates it for stupid reasons. Fat lady calls destructoid writer a "fat-hating, homophobic misogynist"
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 19th 2009 6:23PM
Benelux?? seriously???
Cant wait for Fat Princess tho.....
and why do you cut yourself off mid sentence??? Blast you Kietzmann!!!!
Haggard @ Jan 19th 2009 6:35PM
Benelux has been the recognised grouping of BElgium, NEtherlands and LUXemburg for quite some time. Kind of like Scandinavia but more official (they share some public services).
Sorry if I misread your comment and you already knew that
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 19th 2009 6:38PM
lol......yea I already knew what it was as I am one of the few people that ACTUALLY reads the articles thoroughly......lol
That was more so about information leaking from such a small division....you would think things would be less likely to slip out in such a close nit division.....
Haggard @ Jan 19th 2009 6:44PM
Yeah that's true.. but I guess when you have so many regional divisions one of them is bound to slip up every now and then
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 19th 2009 6:50PM
true......
ANTCEP @ Jan 19th 2009 6:25PM
Ludwig, its WipEout not Wipeout. come on, get it right.
Emophia @ Jan 19th 2009 6:29PM
Wouldn;t it be better just to port WipEout HD to the PS2?
ANTCEP @ Jan 19th 2009 6:30PM
WipEout HD on an SD console makes sense.
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 19th 2009 6:34PM
perfect sense......
I mean its NOT like it was made SPECIFICALLY for the PS3 or anything.....
Brett from Atlanta @ Jan 19th 2009 6:58PM
Is it just me, or does anyone else have Fat Princess on their list of most anticipated games for 2009? I know it's a downloadable title, but I'm more excited about this than some big retail releases this yer.
SuMtOnE @ Jan 19th 2009 6:59PM
im lookin farword to Fat Princess. Seems hella fun and addictive.
slycooper_rocker [psn:slycooper_rocker] @ Jan 19th 2009 7:02PM
before anything else is said, fat princess ftw. now with that out of the way, wipeout pulse on ps2 sounds good to me. as long as it isn't a shoddy port like ratchet and clank: size matters.
j.howlett @ Jan 19th 2009 7:09PM
can't wait for fat princess
tojfs7931 @ Jan 19th 2009 7:20PM
And they wonder why no one really buys the ps3 when the ps2 is still being supported.
Moptimus Slime (Leader of the Ryan Scott Defense Force, A Wurr? My Burr) @ Jan 19th 2009 7:30PM
whoa there boy. As I found out earlier, apparently you aren't allowed to point that out.
PSN: Aggie_CEO @ Jan 19th 2009 8:00PM
that makes no sense.......
by your logic the PS2 should have done terrible as well.....
like I said b4......the PS2 sales so good because there are thousands of games and its only $129......
if you get a PS2 then you either didnt have money for a PS3 or the person that it is for has no need for a PS3(I.E. an 7-12 year old) not to mention 12-15 months of game support left doesnt REALLY justify the purchase to MOST people.....any real gamers have long moved on to PS3/360.....
SoxFan13 @ Jan 19th 2009 7:33PM
I hope this schedule is wrong, because I need Fat Princess in my life sooner than March (plus that Fat Princess game looks pretty good). Whoa, see what I did there?
SoxFan13 @ Jan 19th 2009 7:34PM
DEFINITELY with you there Brett. The mix of genres and the fun style of the game look great. Have you seen the developer walkthroughs from CES? I'm already trying to figure out which class I will specialize in.
Brett from Atlanta @ Jan 19th 2009 8:09PM
I have, I'm kinda leaning towards the worker for the most part. I like building things and that class looks really fun. I wont know for sure 'til I get to play them. Also I wont know until I see their level 2 powers when you grade the classes. The dev ran through them rapid fire and some of those sounded really cool even if I wasn't too interested in that class before the upgrade. I'm really excited about it. I just hope everyone uses their headsets.
Superstar90 @ Jan 19th 2009 7:44PM
Sweet, I love me some Wipeout on big screen!
PSN: Erdie @ Jan 19th 2009 8:00PM

TwEE @ Jan 19th 2009 8:07PM
Fat Princess looks great..I understand that it has 32 player online but can you bring people with you online? If I have a friend or two in the room can they come online too on the same ps3?
SoxFan13 @ Jan 19th 2009 9:32PM
Not sure if they've confirmed split-screen yet, would be good though.
Slayer @ Jan 19th 2009 8:17PM
Ps2 is still going pretty strong. That's pretty awesome if you ask me. I still buy games for my ps2
