MUSHA is a great shmup. It's fast, fun, and very challenging. There's plenty of crazy weapons and the difficulty level makes things engaging throughout. It's a very solid shmup and a great way to drop 800 Points.

Each week, we here at Wii Fanboy like to check out the latest Virtual Console releases in our VC Monday Madness feature, in the hopes that you can make the most sound decision possible regarding purchasing retro titles from the Wii Shop Channel.

Dave, if you had to recommend ONE shmup i must have, what would it be? (vc of course.)

That's like the most impossible task ever. There's soooo many shmups to chose from.

Damn Nintendo and their stupid storage solution. I vowed to not DL anything from the VC until they fixed- correction Properly fixed the storage problem aka let me play off the SD card not play the Wii to SD card shuffle. But i love the look of this game. Might have to break my vow and get it along Star Parodier cause i love shmups. What other shmups on the VC are there? Dave maybe you could do an article on shmups available for play on the Wii? or do a top 5 or something (as long as Ikaruga is on it ;D).

I think I can say that Compile is the pure shmup equivalent of Treasure.
