@Phil

Have some pride about your cheevos!~ No "Avatar:TLE:TBE" or "King Kong" or Madden and such.

Throw Kung Fu Panda in though, because, well, you already own it.

I wouldn't lump King Kong in with Avatar, KK is actually a pretty decent game (that just so happens to give you 1K gamerscore for beating it).

I have Madden 06, FN:R3, and FIFA:RttWC 06 on my gamescore. Those are games I still own and play once in a blue moon... No shame in my game.

I got the pistol achievement in Left 4 Dead without planning it with friends. As long as all of you don't do it and you make sure to never lose your second pistol it isn't that bad.

I think the issue is that it's more polite to let your teammates know, so they can lower expectations of what you're able to kill/do and so no one else tries to do it at the same time.

The the guy asking about DLC for RPGs, I'd have to suggest Fallout 3. Only because you called yourself a hardcore RPG fan, and Fable is about the most un-hardcore RPG game I've ever played. I enjoyed it, don't get me wrong. But you can easily tell how dumbed down it was for the average gamer.

I had the install thing with Gears 2. It would read from the hdd, but if I signed a guest in, it would start reading from the disk and would not stop until I jumped back to the dash, even if I signed the guest out. It happened with real gamertags aslo, but only after signing them in and then signing them out. Point is, apparently there are quirks here and there dealing with hdd installs. If you have a slow internet connection, the game may begin before you sign in and when signed in, may start reading from the disk, or something like that. Who knows. Hopefully MS has found this to be the case and can remedy the situation. Though for me it is only a problem 2% of the time, exactly.

I've had this happen also. So now I always go into "my games" section, select the game that is in the drive and it gives the option "play from hard drive". It's a few extra steps but it's worked for me 100% of the time.

Kung-Fu Panda actually isn't that bad of a game for a free one. I paid money for Jumper which was the biggest crock of shit ever (thank god I only payed $10 for it). I replaced my old Pro with a new Elite and got the two games with it, played Kung-Fu Panda and was pleasantly surprised.

Cheers for posting the question.

The only solution I've found so far is to reinstall. Its not a huge problem other than with discs that are slightly scratched (my xbox has a rubbish reader on it and is very picky about what it plays :( )

Cheers anyhows.

I still dont really get the point behind gamerscore other than "mine is bigger than yours" syndrome. If they ever make it count for something, then I probably would grab the easy games too, but for now, why bother?

About the controller. I know that the older nintendo analog sticks used to call their neutral or rest position the position of the controller upon turning the console on. If this is the same case for the current 360 analog stick, then holding the stick down a little when the console starts up would cause the left stick to appear to always be going up just a little even when in the normal neutral position.

They even had a code you could put in to reset it, I'm not sure if the Xbox 360 controllers have one and after a quick google search I could not locate one.

Wow, thanks for answering the questions guys. :D

Just hit the 4k mark last night, Akimbo Assassin on L4D single player, easy, no mercy. XD

And sadly, I already spent my remaining 800 ms points on knothole island, which was fun... But I'm gonna probably get Operation Anchorage immediately after I get some more cash to use for more points.

Anyways, thanks again for answering. :D

My gamertag is Kyogissun if anyone wants to game with me in the near future by the way, loves me some L4D and in addition to that I should be getting FEAR 2... Once it is out of course.

I'm just hoping it will have multiplayer like the first title and the ex-pacs.

On just about all analog sticks, with use the area in which the stick can be moved without any force gets bigger over time. I even saw a 360 controller in a Walmart that was completely over come with this, so the sticks didn't even return to the center. I also saw this on a PS2 kiosk. Poor demo units :(

I've had my gamertag on a memory card since launch, having had 3 xbox 360's break since then, i've been very happy simply putting my mem card into the new console and having my gamertag ready to go .

You are right. It's totally worth the cost of memory card to be able to lug your gamer tag with you to a friend's place or even between 2 consoles you own (like me!). You can still set it to auto-log in etc. And if you're playing offline you never lose a single achievement!!!

@Syncing live accounts: What I would do is move the x360 and get that online and then log onto live with it. I think the MS server should update its databases with new info, i.e. if you went to your online xbox account your acheivements should be there. Put back your xbox360 and then go online and recover your gamertag on your regular live-connected xbox. I can't guarantee that it'll work, but I been successful in doing that with my xbox and my brother's.

@Play for disc instead of harddrive: I recently got the RROD, but was itching to play my games so I frankenstien my 120GB to my brother's Arcade. I was playing Last Remnant and previously installed it on my elite, however I noticed that my loading would hang (which is somewhat typical for the game). The remedy for this was to simply delete from hard drive and reinstall. Sometimes if you're paranoid, make sure you start on the dashboard on boot then press Y to view the game's detail and make sure you click on "Play from Hard Drive". Again, only if you're paranoid and have some trust issues. ;)

Re: Hard drive.

Yeah, tried that sadly. Booting with the "Y" just states "play game" rather than "play from hard drive" however the option to install is no longer there.

Most odd but I think I've worked it out.
Its caused by slightly scratched discs and there must be some bit of information it isn't picking up and doesn't associate the DVD to the HDD.

wait..the 360 does not lose money on each console sold besides the arcade SKU...they're still making around $3-$4 on each console..
