Killzone 2 receiving PS3 bundle in UK

The UK will receive its umpteenth PS3 bundle with the release of Killzone 2. The package will cost £300 ($416) and be available ... actually, Europe still doesn't have a confirmed release date for the title. If this bundle were released in North America -- and that seems unlikely -- it would hit alongside the game on February 27. Hopefully, Sony Europe will see fit to announce a launch date sometime soon.

How come we (the U.S.) get all the shit bundles? *pouts*

Do you really care? It's not like it's a special console or anything like the Japanese MGS or FFXIII bundles. It's just a game packaged with a PS3.

I think the bundle looks like hell. Too much on the front of the box. Remove some of that text and annoying logos and you'd have a sweet box.

U.S getting shit bundles?? Our U.K bundle is basically just a box with different print that apparently costs an extra £30, which is like $60, at least it used to be anyway... :S

Already have the system so the bundle doesn't matter to me, but with the success the MGS4 bundle had here in the States I'm surprised we don't see more of the good bundles here to move some more units. I'd like to see the PS3 pick up some more steam so Sony doesn't go hardware-cheap next gen.

Success? They were selling it on Amazon for $100 off the price, and it was supposed to be a limited release.

You're thinking of the gunmetal gray bundle, and it wasn't $100 off, it was $200. Nice premium to pay for nothing more than a wacky paint job.

Vcize is referring to the last backwards compatible SKU, which sold like hotcakes.

Yeah, the LE gray PS3 is the one that was selling for less on Amazon I think, and was in limited quantities.

If I recall, the regular PS3 MGS4 bundle quickly sold out everywhere and was selling at a premium on ebay, wii-style.

I never realized that Killzone was such a known IP. I thought the original kind of fell under the radar and was dismissed as a disappointment. Sony has a lot of confidence in this game.

I can't wait and hope it does well. R2 didn't set the world on fire, but then again, they released it during the now infamous "Fall 08".

It's because Sony and half of PS3 owners have been hyping it for 2 years.

Game looks good though, but after all this hype it would have to be better than HL2 in order to not be a disappointment.

There was a bit of a following for the first game, which I've heard was pretty decent. It sold well too, I think over 2 million copies.

While I haven't played the game, it looks like this is everything the first game was and then turned 100X better.

The story is amazing too. If you've got about 20 minutes to burn, go to Killzone.com and look at the story. It's really well put together, and when you're done, you'll leave with the feeling of not knowing who the 'bad guys' really are and people tend to side with one group or the other (I myself sympathize with the Helghast and want a story on them maybe as DLC)

Anyone want to bet on a price drop right before the release of this game or on the day of?

Doubt it. They are waiting for mid March early April to drop price. If iam not mistaken and i usually am; April is the end of the 2nd Quarter beginning of the 3rd. So it wouldn't make sense to drop price before that time frame. That gives them a chance to asses the damage from the Holiday Season Last Quarter.

if the Bundle Release along with the Game then no......price drop isnt expected until shortly after Sony's Fiscal year '09 starts......

All of these new bundle announcements makes me feel like a price drop might NOT be coming.. it's probably silly, but when they're releasing these new bundles at the same price the system has been going for already, it just feels like no price drop is coming.

And no price drop means no PS3 for me. :(
