an update and more DLC can't come soon enough. i'm a new xbox user and just received this game over the holidays. i'm severely addicted to it already and can't wait to see what else valve can bring in an update.

Don't hold your breath. The game came out over a year ago and has not been updated the way the PC version has. Get what fun you can out of what's there (when you can actually get into a match) and move on. It could have been one of the best shooters on the 360, but Valve blew it.

Valve didn't screw up anything on 360. It's Microsoft holding them back.

Also, I've had The Orange Box since Dec '07, and it's still a highly addicting game, and I hope anyone who has it plays it for a long time like I've been doing.

@ Everyone who replied:

Be happy that you're even getting an update. PS3 version was left in the dark immediately after it was sent to retail.

Thank you EA. At least you made an effort and, surprisingly, made the port playable.

And the biggest question for the 360 version is how much we will have to pay for a free PC update.

It's really a shame how they've mistreated the 360 version of a potentially great game. I expect they'll get this update out by the next presidential election in the US....maybe.

The article contains no new info, but still is informative for people who haven't been constantly searching for TF2 news.

I gave up on TF2 for the Xbox 360 earlier this month and traded it on Goozex. If it had cross platform play with the PC like Shadowrun did, it might have had a chance, like Shadowrun didn't.

Cross-platform play would never happen, as it would use Microsoft's craptacular Games for Windows Live platform and not Valve's own Steam service.
But, if it DID have cross-platform play, the PC version would be crippled. No frequent updates, no fantastic mods, and no 32 player servers. And what I listed there is half the game. After trading in my 360 copy for the PC version, I would NEVER go back.

Come on VALVE! I have like a point card waiting to be used for the update (Unless it's free, WHICH I SURE DO HOPE SO) I mean really now. I'm getting tired of getting into 2fort matches and hearing constant whining on "this map sux" and "when will they update this"

I just picked up The Orange Box last week and I have been very happy with it. I love TF2. It brings me back to my college days of Quake 2 mods. Portal is also really cool. Halflife 2 is kind of ticking me off. Longer levels != better game play. Maybe they will shorten up, but I feel like I have been riding this airboat forever.

Hey guys this game is amazing,

Deep breaths they will get the update running eventually. They wouldn't lie, it is on its way, even if it is a very very very long way. Whatever, I gave up TF2 this past spring and played different games. But my love for TF2 was reborn after watching this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XeZXd62KH4Q). I did get sick of 2fort though, but you can't go wrong with Dustbowl or either of the five point maps Well and Granary. Just play social games, 8v8 matches are pretty easy to find, and if you get nice even teams a Well game can last for hours.
Plus I bet you haven't mastered every class, sure you know all the best sentry spots and you can ubercharge two people at once (switch between ubering two characters very quickly, if your fast enough they both become invincible) but how good are your sticky bomb jumps?
And if you have read this far and not found something you can work on, then learn all the little tricks like how to skywalk, or find the windowsill on Dustbowl 3 that is extremely useful for both teams. For instance while writing this i realized a couple things i can work on. For instance i have not mastered the Pyro (it is my least favorite class i've only logged in 40min compared to the 33hrs i've played as an Engineer), i have yet to punch a level 3 sentry to death with a Heavy, and i am a little rusty at my Medic hop.
For these reasons as well as an overall love of the game, I find myself playing every weekend grinning to myself as i backstab a Heavy-Medic combo with my butterfly knife. So even though the computer version is, "So much better." I can't complain because the game always has something new to offer, so stop yapping about the lack of an update and look for things that you haven't done.
For an example, right now Im gonna join a game and convince my team that an all Spy rush on Gravelpit is the best strategy, and Im gonna have a good time doing it. Until i realize that half their team is Pyros. Whatever.

Sincerely,
PapaSkwah

Sick of 2fort? it's maps and game modes like 2 fort that make that game, I find cp modes to be less strategical and too random. anywho I quit this game for like half of 08 and all of 09 till yesterday, so I have getting good as a spy again to keep me busy, it's a shame, if tf2 didn't lag up and get the cursed lag quakes in games, got the updates the pc version gets, and had a party system similiar to halo's, it could have been better than halo, I actually find the game to be superior, but ya know, with halo you go to game after game sticking with your friends and always be on the same team, I should hope they wouldn't screw it up like epic did though, it takes 20 mins+ to get in a gears 2 game for most people there, such a great game ruined by that little mess up. the game came out in 08 and still has broken matchmaking I'm not sure if I would give a damn if they fixed it at this point.

On an off note, the pc does have it's downsides. it's filled with people hosting edited games, like insta spawn which throws the game off balance and turns battles into endless skirmishes on ctf maps like 2 fort, but I do miss the custom maps, tf2 for the pc has some of the best custom maps I've ever seen, some of them are a joy just to look at.
