I really like these parts:

Made Horde waves count toward the "Party Like It's 1999" achievement. Each wave is counted as one round.

Added achievement progression numbers to the War Journal.

Go Epic!

yeah me too! I always wondered why they didn't do it that way from the beginning. Specially since horde is the most addictive mode.

You are exactly right. I sold this game last month after they launched the $10 3-map pack. That was only like 70mb or something like that.

Epic showed their ass on this game. They are about the $ first, the gamers last. All the way to the bank.

If I have enough friends tell me the game play is fixed, I will buy the game again b/c it does have the potential to be a great game on a level playing field that isn't a complete glitch and lag festival.

Waaay too late, I sold it weeks ago and went back to COD4. The biggest insult was releasing maps a month after launch that would basically had to have been done around launch time, while leaving the game itself broken.

I don't think Epic really had a choice...Microsoft has companies by the balls when it comes to that kind of stuff....especially if a company wants to make DLC free......just ask Valve lol

I remember playing the first GoW for months, single player campaign a bunch of times and multiplayer non stop. The same 12 or so of my closer friends did the same, I think that number dropped to about three for GoW2. Not sure what happened, but the magic seems gone from the series for a lot of us and it's a lot more than the bugs (of which there were apparently even more than I thought (which was already a lot)).

Why did they not add all 3 types of territories to be voted on? I know it's a bit of a math issue, but I would say maybe 8-9 out of 10 times it only gives you KOH or Annex as the choices, and Submission only comes up about 10-20% of the time.

With this long of a list, I wonder if they even playtested the MP prior to shipping? When Gears 3 comes out, I'll definitely be waiting a few months before I buy to be sure I actually get a finished game.

Its sad b/c I really like Gears MP, but all my friends were so pissed about the glitches, we've moved to COD:W@W.

"Increased the penalty to rank for players who quit Public Xbox LIVE matches early."

I don't like this. My connection is crap. It drops all the time. This is why I stopped playing Halo 3. Deducting an EXP point for disconnect that isn't my fault isn't fair.

I'd prefer it if it just banned you. If you can't finish games because of your connection, you shouldn't be playing. It ruins it for the rest of us. I guess the alternative is that you don't really have that much of a problem with your connection and you're just complaining about something that properly penalizes 99% of the quitters, because you think everything has to revolve around you. Here's a tip, make your own game and you can drop out all you want without penalty.

How is it unfair? If my connection was crap, I'd be calling my ISP to complain. What is unfair is finally getting into a match, and having someone drop from the match before it even starts, or two rounds away from a victory/defeat. Those are the two scenarios I see all the time. I haven't had someone drop mid-sentence or anything like that. It's always preceded by that person complaining about not getting boomshot/snipe/frags/ice cream/a pony/et cetera...

Well let's be honest, who really cares about rank in GOW2? It's not like Halo where you have an actual number and it unlocks stuff for you, in GOW2 there are, like, 4 different pictures you can have that no-one understands.

I'll agree that it does suck about this though, for example, if my whole team quits apart from me then I'm expected to play 5 on 1 otherwise I get penalised.

If it does, I'll get it fixed and I won't screw up everyone else's games with my terrible connection. If your car gets a flat, do you leave it in the driveway until it gets fixed or do you keep driving on it everyday, screwing up the roads for everyone else?

BTW, that's not what irony means.

We don't care that your connection is crap, get it fixed or get something else.

There's no way to tell the different between a legit disconnect and a fake one, so get your stuff fixed.

I like the sound of everything. One shame though is the tougher penalties for quiters. I quit early a fair bit.

I like in New Zealand, but the game is insistant on placing me and my friends into American or British hosted games, where the user hosting probably has a crap connection anyway. The resulting lag is unbelivable. 2 second bullet lag, run right across the whole map, only to suddenly be back in spawn. Hiding inside, motar goes off outside... so laggy that you still die. It's tough.

I know quitting sucks, but with the lag I get sometimes, me quitting will improve the game for everyone else.

I just wish they'd make it like Gears 1. Gears 2 has too much lag for this type of matchmaking. People over here would all love to be able to just choose a game based on ping like in Gears 1.

Still though, thanks for all the fixes Epic. I'll give it a go later... if the lag is still a joke given my location, I'll probably put the game aside again though.

It's because they don't have a region filter on the matchmaking. Even the absolute BEST Internet connections have latency (lag) when traveling across continents.

The people you are playing with probably have 10Mbps down but you can't tell that.

It's a distance thing, not a connection thing, and I really am surprised they didn't add a region filter. It's actually retarded that they didn't.

Unfortunately there's no way to tell between real connections drops and people pulling their connection cord out of the back of their box/modem.

You're from NZ and saying people in Britain and the US probably have crap connections?

Likelyhood is that it's you, and the reason you will get put into US and British hosted games is because of the sheer number of games from these countries.

Best solution? Move!!!!

I wasn't implying all American and British hosts have crap connections. I'm not an idiot. I'm just mean SOMETIMES even the American and British players in a match are complaining about lag, which gives me the impression that the game doesn't nessicarily give host to the best connection. I posted it, then realised the mistake. Can't edit though :(

That would explain why lately it's been giving me host, which I feel is even more unfair. A game of Wingman for example... I have host. 7 Americans and 2 Brits are also in the match... all 9 of them will be having shocking lag (because I'm host)... how's that fair?

Still no word on fixing the D pad sensitivity. It was perfect in Gears 1 but for some reason they switched it.

Also, On Horde either Public or Private you should be able to Join if someone quits....

I do however like they Execution style D.B.N.O. for Annex.

Good Job Epic and keep the Patches coming.

You are exactly right on the d-pad problem. When I switch to a weapon, it almost always chooses what I have on the left weapon. I have buddies that say it always switches to what they have on the right weapon. But we all have the same problem, it switches to the wrong thing!
