I Am Alive to show itself in March
Ubisoft has given first-person disaster-survival title I Am Alive an enigmatic March release window. That puts the launch anywhere from six to ten weeks from now, a very short amount of time considering we've seen approximately zilch in terms of gameplay footage. After being hyped up so much at E3, there's been little to no promotion for the game. We're a bit perplexed by this one, and hope it's not a foreboding sign.
Other games slated to come out in March include Tom Clancy's HAWX, a PC version of EndWar and Broken Sword Wii. Tenchu: Shadow Assassin, a Wii exclusive, has been given a more exact March 6 date.

I had forgotten all about this game......
Levi @ Jan 21st 2009 11:29AM
Wow. Maybe this means we'll see some more details before then?
Freelance @ Jan 21st 2009 11:30AM
Wasn't their a Wii game with similar theme
finnith @ Jan 21st 2009 11:37AM
Disaster: Day of Crisis, right?
Freelance @ Jan 21st 2009 1:22PM
"Disaster: Day of Crisis, right?"
Yeah thats what I was thinking but I don't know if they are similar at all, other than taking place during a disaster.
ToRo @ Jan 21st 2009 11:33AM
Looks like this one is going on my Gamefly!
Sidebuster @ Jan 21st 2009 11:36AM
too bad gamefly will just ship random games in your Q instead of, you know, shipping them in order. ASSHOLES!
ToRo @ Jan 21st 2009 11:42AM
lol I know they can be douches sometimes. What I do is I leave what ever game I want on my Q and take out the rest. They'll have to send you that one!
And wtf is up with dead space and mirrors edge for the 360? They both came out on october/november and their still low availability! Gamefly needs to get their shit straight.
samfish @ Jan 21st 2009 11:45AM
I've never had that problem.
...although GameFly HAS lost 3 games in the mail. They'll probably think I'm stealing them if they screw up once more.
ToRo @ Jan 21st 2009 11:49AM
That happened to me once but I didn't have to pay for it. But yeah, everything is on low availability. Well, all the top games that came out for Q4. I was lucky enough to play the new prince of persia because I put it at the top of my Q a day before it came out.
Vcize @ Jan 21st 2009 2:16PM
Yeah, they sent me too in a row that were two scratched up to play. One was even broken in half. I wondered if Gamefly was going to think I was swapping out their games for broken copies of the game I already had.
Luckily, Gamefly has not yet become self-aware.
Nutchos @ Jan 21st 2009 11:35AM
Reading the headline I thought they'd release info about it in March... had to read the article twice to confirm that they actual games releasing instead.
I remember being intrigued watching that trailer a year back... not sure why they haven't hyped it more. Maybe their trying to pull an apple?
Henry @ Jan 21st 2009 11:40AM
This just reminded me of something. Where is Disaster: Day of Crisis from Nintendo? I wouldn't be surprised if it has turned into Happiness: Day of Minigames.
samfish @ Jan 21st 2009 11:44AM
Reggie didn't like the voice acting and decided not to allow for a US release.
...no, that's not sarcasm.
baby sea tuna @ Jan 21st 2009 12:55PM
That's alright. From the looks of it, Disaster was bound to live up to its name anyway. I assume the same will happen for Broken Sword.
Weelo89 @ Jan 21st 2009 11:48AM
This looks like a really promising game. Ubisofts burnt me before with Assassin's Creed though so hopefully this game won't do the same. Seems kinda dumb to release a game we have no knowledge about.

Daviesifier @ Jan 21st 2009 11:55AM
What ever happened to Alan Wake?
Shagittarius @ Jan 21st 2009 11:58AM
Is that the sequel to Carmen Sandiego?
xGeneral DEATHx @ Jan 21st 2009 12:01PM
DO IT, ROCKAPELLA!
Hyams @ Jan 21st 2009 1:03PM
It's still coming. Could possibly even be released this year. A trailer was released a little while, made up of cutscenes from the PC version.
SoulBlade @ Jan 21st 2009 1:43PM
xGeneral,
Hilarious.

I am so intrigued by this game. I really, really want it to be good but the lack of details scares me. I love the idea behind it - a first person game where survival is the main goal (and not just shooting the shit out of a bunch of dudes, though I'm sure that'll be there) that takes place in the current time period. Like Fallout, but without Super Mutants. At least that's how it sounds in my head.
You know what might shed some light on the details? Oh, that's right - if Ubisoft released some damned info on the game!
Jerk Face @ Jan 21st 2009 12:06PM
I mean, dudes and ladies, look at the friggin' trailer:

No gameplay whatsoever but the theme and story potential alone make me want to know more about it.
ronald.raygun @ Jan 21st 2009 5:20PM
that scene in the video reminds me of children of men...an awesome movie
Joe Alanis @ Jan 21st 2009 12:10PM
What i'd like to know is what new games are involved with the brazilian studio they just acquired; Developer Studios like ours in Mexico are always eager to cooperate in multi-dev projects.
wazmo @ Jan 21st 2009 12:23PM
this looks like I Am Legend in video game form. The names are even almost exactly the same.
pandlcg @ Jan 21st 2009 12:29PM
I think everyone should keep their expectations low and hopefully we will all be pleasantly surprised.
jorojoserojas @ Jan 21st 2009 12:34PM
That's good advice for life itself!

Is this suppose to be based on "I Am Legend"?
michas_pi @ Jan 21st 2009 2:20PM
Yes, he is Legend.
Kevin @ Jan 21st 2009 2:22PM
Minus the Vampires/Zombies it would seem.
pandlcg @ Jan 21st 2009 2:23PM
The source says it's due in the first quarter which for a lot of video game companies means April through June.
justin Porter @ Jan 21st 2009 3:20PM
This just got bumped up on my radar.
I really like the idea of not hearing about a game until a couple months before it comes out. I feel like games get so much hype that there's no way they can live up to expectations nowadays, also, a lot of the story tends to get spoiled. Hoping this plays out differently.
Also, the trailer is a great setup.
Deedubbadoo @ Jan 21st 2009 4:35PM
Kinda reminds me of Alan Wake, except this one has a release date...
pasta @ Jan 21st 2009 7:39PM
I may seem overly cynical, but the plot is basically Waterworld in reverse.
