Hey, X3F! How about some investigative journalism up in here?! You have a direct link to Major Nelson.

This sucks. I'm collecting these Halo 3 action figures. I didn't open thepackages and have them hanging off of thumb tacks on my wall. So if I want these, I'm going to have to ruin their collectors value and OPEN them in order to cut off their Halo Points barcodes t mail them in. Way to go McFarlane, bangup job.

couldn't you call the company and ask if photos would suffice?

More than likely they wouldn't accept photos. If they did everyone would be snapping pics of all the Halo 3 figures in Toys R Us, Walmart, etc. and sending them it. It would be suspicious if more than one person sent in pictures of the same barcodes and serial numbers.

Dude, you _DO_ realize that actually means there's a hope in hell that your wall full of figures will have value some day, right?

Collectibles having value, especially nostalgia-based collectibles like these will be (I am referring to your carded figures here) made only more valuable if there's incentive for tons of collectors to open their figures. I'm willing to bet more than half of all the Halo figures sold have never been removed from the packaging; what you have is, in the grand scheme of things, not rare at all really...

So either break them all open and get the truly rare figures in the set. Or leave them all packaged and hope and pray that every other collector out there decides to go for the limited mail-in figures instead, thus making your still-carded collection suddenly rare ;)
