According to a Japan sales chart compiled by Famitsu, only one Xbox 360 game carried enough weight to be named a top seller in 2008, out of 100 titles. Capturing the 82nd slot was Namco Bandai's Tales of Vesperia, a real-time role-playing game and latest entry from the famed fourteen-year-old franchise, apparently only selling 161,070 units since it released in early August. As expected, Nintendo topped the list with 47 DS titles and 15 Wii titles in the region. One out of 100? We guess that is what you'd call progress. Right? Then again, no. No, it isn't.

Why? It has nothing to do with the PS3 at all. Did you even read this?

ToV was my write-in for GoTY here.
It's a 360 exclusive game that went under the radar for most. It deserves some recognition.
I can't see why it wouldn't belong here.

I just meant it's kinda funny to have such a negative article on a fanboy website that was concocted by the reporter and not by some Sony PR person or other website. Whom you'd think it would've come from first. I have a habit of making bad jokes and rambling on, that's what I do. Just ignore me.

@Rick
ToV is an awesome game. I'm enjoying it, and I almost feel guilty I bought it for $30 from some kid who was going to sell it for $20 to Gamestop. It's entertaining, pretty, full of dialogue, and with over 60hrs in, it's another case for why games haven't outgrown DVDs. Plenty of funny skits and dialogue with an interesting story.
Also sports an excellent English voice cast. Up there with Lost Odyssey

McWilly, it would be slightly pathetic if they (X3F) only reported on positive 360 news.
And they'd probably lose whatever little journalistic credibility they might have managed to scrape together...
(Joke!)

I am a 360 fan boy but you should see both games on that list... sad thing though it will be on the PS3.... Just for the simple fact is the PS3 has a MUCH larger installtion base then the 360......

wow... guess that shows japanese people don't care about shooters and stuff... out of the cool games in Xbox 360 like say gears or halo... Tales of Vesperia?
I mean I have a PS3, I would consider myself a PS3 Fanboy, I don't own a 360, my friend does and I have to recognize that even though I believe the PS3 is the best, GoW 2 is an amazing game... I'd choose it over ToV anyday... it's probably my favorite game after MGS4 and Resistance 2.
But ToV!? is Japan crazy!?

I'm not saying ToV is a bad game, hell I enjoyed that game a lot, perhaps not as much as the Final Fantasy series but still it was an amazing game, I'm just saying that IMO GoW 2 is better simply because of all the action.
anyways the thing is that... out of 100 games the only Xbox exclusive one was number 82... and it was a good game but definitely not the best.

Agree. Eternal Sonata made its way to PS3, so there is definitely a large possibility of a PS3 release.

I wouldn't mind some Naruto love. I doubt it though, as Ubisoft has the license. I own Rise of a Ninja, but not The Broken Bond. I may get it down the road after SFIV and SO4.

Of course the 360 didn't do well in Japan, the Japanese hate American machines, games, movies, books, etc. They want their brand of shit not western stuff.

and Tales of Vesperia isn't out in UK or Australia yet...not for another couple months! i'm sure that won't help the total sales figure for this game.

this is because the Japanese dont have a clue what a good game nor good console is.

lol thats funny, but Americans know what a good console is. I´m lucky to have a Xbox360Elite and a Playstation3-60GB. And that I don´t live in the USA or in Japan.
One thing we Germans have in common with the japanese people: We´re not stupid enough to buy everything from M$ and most of us are not stupid enough to be fanboys.

I'm surprised the Xbox 360 hasn't become more popular in Japan since it seems to be the obvious choice for RPGs right now. Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery, Tales of Vesperia, Eternal Sonata (I know, it's on the PS3 as well), The Last Remnant, Star Ocean 4, and many more to come I am sure.
